yes it needs a new gasket, that's why i was trying to take it off. i'll try and post pics tomorrow when i get the replacement, but i can describe it right now. if you're looking at the engine from the front of the car, it's broken in the front left corner where i was trying to pry it open. all...

good question, i have no clue how something that can take those temps would break, but it did. when calling around to find a replacement all the people asked the same question "why do you need this, did it break?" so apparently it's common.

Somebody please help explain this to me because I'm a total noob. My valve cover gasket is leaking so I decided I'd fix it myself. Today when trying to remove the valve cover... it just broke. I've alread found a replacement for 30 bucks, but I need to know how to finish removing the old one...
