Thanks for the advice boys. I tightened the tension bolt down as hard as I could and it was ok to drive around the block. I will try to track a longer pivot bolt so I can put a nut on the end. Sadly as I was under the car I saw that my oil pan is rusting out and one of front tires has a badly...

I replaced my alternator this week and just loosened the pivot bolt at the bottom to re-tension the belt cause it was squealing...and when I tigtened the pivot bolt up again it wouldn't go tight again..just kinda snug. I assume I stripped the bolt or threads on the case of the alternator...

Hey does anyone know if the Mazda 3 roof rack will fit on a Protege5. I can't find a rack for my P5 aywhere so I'm exploring options. I noticed both cars have the same thule fit kit so I thought maybe it might work? I have the Canadian car with the hidden fix points under the rail caps.

I had a Command(remote) Start installed and when I went to use the factory remote the range was like 15' and it use to be 100+. I tested and replaced the remote battery -no luck. Does anyone have any ideas what could have happened before I take it back to the guys who installed the remote start...
