After some further checking, it doesn't have to do with opening the door at all, the sound just becomes more noticible with the door open. Its only occuring right after the car is turned off. I'm now thinking its just the fuel pump or something similar shutting down and probably normal :)

Best I've been able to get after emailing all CO dealers is 5% before this. Everyone here charges $500-600 doc fees because the state allows no cap to it. My target has been 8% off with special financing but I'm essentially being laughed at asking for that the last week from everyone.
