Could have asked hard questions or interesting questions, but asked neither.

CEO of Mazda on CNBC's morning Squawk Box program

Thanks for link. Becky's questions are weak. Too much time wasted by the interviewer on Baltimore port, with predictable answers (there are 10 other major deep water ports on the East Coast, it's not as if cars suddenly can't get into the United States). Should have had someone with some actual...

    CX-5 Changes 2019 vs 2024?

Funny enough, I made a similar observation when I saw them - I think it's a less original design, but they still look good and overall, the design and body style is about 95% the same. I do prefer the previous headlights/taillights and grille design, but since they are so similar, I'd be happy...

    CX-5 Changes 2019 vs 2024?

Also, you can add extra insulation for very little cost. The 2017+ gen is already one of the quietest vehicles in its class from the factory with its underbody panels, felt coated wheel wells, double door seals, and laminated windshield and front windows. I added some extra insulation in the...

    CX-5 Changes 2019 vs 2024?

I believe your assessments. I will say, the 2nd gen projector LED headlights are great and very bright - they're just aimed too low. Aimed slightly higher they have excellent performance. With the stock aim, you can see hundreds of feet down the road with low beams, but only on a level or...

    Bike inside CX-5?

It's a tight fit, done it with an ebike. Have to fold the handlebars down. It weighs almost 90 lbs without the batteries so it's a pain to lift in and out.

Is Mazda selling our driving data?

https://mazdas247.com/forum/t/mazda-tracking-owners.123878315/#post-6765847 The spyware module is only on 2021 or newer CX-5s. So if you are in the market for a used CX-5, then you can get a 2nd gen from 2017 to 2020 model years. See the discussion here, removing the TCU apparently breaks the...

Problem with touch screen (2023 CX-5)

Haha. I disagree. Way quicker to quickly press a button. Way more distracting to fumble around with a knob and control it indirectly. Especially with Carplay. The knob is serviceable but I would rather use a touchscreen.

Problem with touch screen (2023 CX-5)

Nope, it is/was an intentional and idiotic decision. They switched to a slightly larger non touch screen for the 21 to 23 models, which is still a downgrade from a usable touchscreen in my opinion, and finally went along with all the other carmakers on this issue with the current model year...

Problem with touch screen (2023 CX-5)

Whoever at Mazda thought it would be a good idea to build in the expense of a touchscreen and then not let you use it deserves a swift kick in the nuts.

Problem with touch screen (2023 CX-5)

The 23 does not have a touchscreen, it was only added for 2024 model year. Mazda used to include a touchscreen from 2017 to 2020, but it has an idiotic, and I mean IDIOTIC, motion lockout. Especially when using Carplay or Android Auto which are designed to be used with touchscreens. Completely...

It's an improvement, but I still like "Complaints Department" better.

I think it was a joke. Anyways, lots of complaints over at the top 2 competitors' forums. https://www.crvownersclub.com/forums/gen-5-cr-v-2017-2022-uk-2018-2023.137/ https://www.rav4world.com/forums/4-5-general.197/

Can we change the title of the thread to "Complaints Department"? @Antoine

At my wits end... *May contain complaints 😉

Starting prices are comparable at the 30K mark, except Mazda offers better value, in terms of standard equipment (such as AWD which is extra cost on the others) and material quality, at the lower price points. If you prefer German cars, that's cool. Both of my parents own one. I am not a fan of...

    Switched to 5W-30 from 0W-20

Well, that is just my impression based off the way the oil looks and drains. The remaining viscosity is perfectly acceptable, but it's lower to begin with and towards the lower end of the range once it's been used. Either oil will protect the engine properly over the rated oil change interval...

    Switched to 5W-30 from 0W-20

"Better" is subjective. ;) Better for 1 extra mpg, yes, better for a quiet drive, no. Regardless of brand, like you said in post #5, 0W-20 "drains like pure water". I hadn't even considered that point when I switched, but it is very true. At the end of the oil change interval with 0W-20 it is...

    Steering Wheel Vibration

Yeah: https://mazdas247.com/forum/t/steering-wheel-vibration.123871205/post-6682593 @Ingridt it could be your tires. Check for uneven wear, or post a pic of the fronts. Uneven tire wear can cause vibration.
