    Mazda 3 Parts Sites

Any places that sell factory parts for DIYers? One good thing about honda/acura is there are excellent sources of discount factory parts around.

    New Mazda3 parts for 2006

Aluminum dents more easily and is harder to fix, so perhaps this is a bone tossed to the dealers to give them more profit from bodywork.

    Switched to Redline today

Does Redline MTF have a friction modifier in it for the synchros?

Do all you have this many problems?

WRX isn't all that reliable. The paint sucks worse than Mazda. The body panels easily dent, especially the aluminum hood. They squeak and rattle too, but they also eat synchros and have some headgasket issues that may not be resolved. Most of these complaints don't get fully covered by the...

    ?'s about the new 3's....

I wouldn't. I've already looked at Subaru WRXs and written them off due to their weak transmissions and lousy warranty service.

    Road Crown/Toe Adjustment/Steering

Cross caster or cross camber are what you need to adjust for the road crown, NOT toe. My current car has slightly more positive caster on the right side to compensate for the crown of the road. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=4

ghetto treatment x2-- my parent's 3 is fubar!

You folks should've broken a couple windows, esp. the back glass, at the tow yard to get an easy extra $1000 in damages. There'd be no way I'd want that car back.

    Winter Wheels - 16s on a 3s

You can't get much worse than the OEM Michelins Honda insists on using and they actually say "MICHELIN" on them.

    ?'s about the new 3's....

Actually, I gathered that. I just meant to say that if the warranty service is bad, which it often is, you'll still be riding around in a junkwagon for quite some time until you can get out from under it.

    ?'s about the new 3's....

Are you prepared for the maintenance issues when you buy the VW? Even when leasing, you are still stuck with the car until the lease expires, which can be a very long time when you have warranty issues that haven't been resolved satisfactorily. FWIW, I almost bought a Jetta 5 years ago, but...

    Brake Problems...possible solutions?

Carbotech would appear to sell bobcat pads for this car, so that would be your best pad application.

Any CAIs use the stock filter?

http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101710&page=2&pp=25 There are other links in this thread and I first saw indications of this on bobistheoilguy.com, which makes it worth a search there. http://theoildrop.server101.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=000073#000000...

Any CAIs use the stock filter?

Your filter controls air quality of intake air. A free-flowing filter would, despite claims of being 98-99% as effective as OEM, seem to let in more abrasive particulates. Logic stands that these might cause premature wear. I agree that I don't have enough info at present to say, but rings...

What issues does the Mazda3 have for a potential buyer?

Let in a ton of silicates to score the cylinder wall: http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=101710&page=2&pp=25 We did controlled tests using lab dirt (yes, there is a lab standard dirt, available from large chemical supply houses like Sigma, a supplier of our research labs), a...

Any CAIs use the stock filter?

I'm coming from Acura, if i end up buying the 3, and Comptech makes a CAI that allows you to keep the original air filter and plumbing to the TB by merely replacing the stock airbox with a fenderwell intake system. I'm asking this because I'm pretty sure all the silicates that K&N filters (and...

What issues does the Mazda3 have for a potential buyer?

I'm thinking about dumping my GSR (which, thanks to K&N may need a ring job) and buying the Mazda3, even if the performance won't be as good. I looked at the TSB links here and am wondering what else there is to worry about and how expensive parts are to buy for wear items like brake rotors and...
