    CX-9 OEM Tires

My Falkens were decent but were almost shot at 20k miles

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

I have to add that with these new high end Michelin tires I notice a lot more torque steer under any type of acceleration and yes this is an AWD GT. The grip is better and the front end feeling is worse. Compared to my Honda Ridgeline that is also FWD biased but sends power to the rear wheels...

2nd Gen CX-9 High mileage club, how's it holding up?

I saw the same video and it looks like Coleman and company tried to mitigate this carbon issue and maybe they did. We will need to see somebody who has their injectors looked at with 50k miles or so on them. Meanwhile it is an issue with Honda's " Earth Dreams" V6 that is in many vehicles...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

Not really. There is not that much difference from a H to a V rating. She says it feels generally "softer". I took it out today on a wet twisty road put the whip to it and it felt like a new car/SUV. I would say not as stiff as the well worn Falkens but the grip was way better. I tried to have...

What have you done to your CX-9 today?

replaced the lame Falken OEM tires with some Michelin Defender LTX's. What a difference. Ride is more composed and handling improved. The Falkens were shot after 25k miles.

    CX-9 OEM Tires

Its more the latter. Chip seal here in Montana beats up tires pretty quickly. There is still probably 5k left on them but as a motorcycle rider I never push rubber all the way to the end. Inflation is checked regularly and they have been rotated and worn uniformly. I don't drive the car all that...

    CX-9 OEM Tires

Bring back an old thread here. Our 2018 GT AWD is about due for new shoes. There are only 22k miles on the Falkens but getting close the wear bar as most of those miles were high speed interstate with a fully loaded car ( I guess) I'm a Michelin fan and was going to pony up for the new...

    Towing with your CX-9

I had U-haul install their hitch ( which us made by Curt I believe) and the receiver was so far under the bumper ( looks clean) but I needed to get an extended ball mount to clear the rear end properly. I

    Question about extended warranty

I agree that most of the 3rd party warranty's are weak. They "threw in" another years on my wife 2018 to seal the deal but I can tell by looking at the one page "contract" it could be worth absolutely nothing. I forget the name night be Western or something. I'm of the mind that with as...

New Highlander coming this month with "torque vectoring AWD system" ?

The more reviews I see on the new Highlander the more happy I am that I didn't wait for it. Don't like the styling at all, the interior room is not that much more and other than a V6 there is nothing that is better in my mind. The top trim interior tries too hard with that giant screen and...

    CX-9 Driver Visibility

Agree. The A pillars are too big and they can easily block out a full size truck at an intersection.

    Mazda developing staight-six engines

We own both a 2018 CX-9 AWD GT and a 2019 Honda Ridgeline AWD RTL-E. I love them both. CX-9 is mostly my wife car but I drive it whenever I can because I think its great. The Ridgeline I've had for 5 months and it has given me a great comparison between the turbo 4 banger and the old school...

    Mazda developing staight-six engines

Mazda should develop a mid-size truck to compete with the Honda Ridgeline ( great underrated vehicle with Honda's excellent AWD system) and the other mid size trucks that are selling like hot cakes. Yes the Ridgeline has been a tough sell here because people don't think it's a truck but I'm...

New Highlander coming this month with "torque vectoring AWD system" ?

The problem is when you are not in a snowy climate for long stretches of time and having a second set of tires is not practical. At that point all you can do is try and have the best All Season tires you can find and hope for the best There's a Continental out now that's suppose to bet very...

New Highlander coming this month with "torque vectoring AWD system" ?

Looks like Toyota is going to be offering a more sophisticated AWD system on the all new Highlander coming out now. I forget what they are calling it but it can split power between the rear wheels and apparently mimics the Honda/Acura AWD system which is very good. I don't yet know if it can...

    Fog lights decorative piece?

Interesting question. They are so small I have wondered if they at all effective. Maybe I'll take a look. I've only driven it at night a few times.

How is 2019 CX-9 AWD performance?

The Honda/Acura AWD system is totally different from a typical clutch based AWD system found on most SUV's including Mazda's. Honda's AWD system ( basically the same as Acura's SH-AWD, same company, same parts) is a full time AWD system with a torque converter that can separate power...

How is 2019 CX-9 AWD performance?

I haven't had not spent a lot of time with the Mazda system in the snow but I would say it's perfectly adequate on slick surfaces and mostly un-noticed when it activates. Power on dry pavement it is noticeable at times when the power shifts to the rear for traction. There is definitely some...
