New 2021 CX-5 Signature, 6,600 miles left before first service?

That's the whole point. There is no customization of schedules that you need to tinker with. It just tells you when you are nearing an oil change/maintenance by learning your driving habits.

New 2021 CX-5 Signature, 6,600 miles left before first service?

Wish Mazda would do something like Honda does with their maintenance. There is no way to 'set' oil change schedules. The car just learns how you drive and tells you when you are nearing an oil change. https://www.goderichhonda.com/blog/honda-maintenance-minder-work/

CX-5 vs. Subaru CrossTrek vs. RAV4 vs Nissan Rogue

Subaru's don't have head gasket or CVT in their newer vehicles. The powertrains are a little old so they've had plenty of time to fix those issues. The Crosstrek also has the smallest interior of the vehicles you mention. It's AWD system is fantastic and it is also fully AWD 100% of the time...

    2021 Mazda CX-5 announcement

Well the MSRP of a Venza limited with all options it is a little over 3k more than a fully loaded Sig. The problem is if I can only expect to get 5% off MSRP for a vehicle that is in it's last year, I can probably(hopefully) get that 5% off of a Venza as well. I guess it will come down to...

    2021 Mazda CX-5 announcement

The lack of buttons for volume and AC isn't a huge issue for me because if I want to lower or raise the volume, I can use the volume controls on my steering wheel which is what I do now. Don't think I've ever used the physical volume knob. The AC touch controls are annoying, but not a huge deal...

    2021 Mazda CX-5 announcement

Got it. As far as size, I’m single so don’t need much space. Also Venza actually has a smaller interior than the RAV4.

    2021 Mazda CX-5 announcement

They finally ditched that horrendously slow infotainment. Thank god. I am buying a new CUV this month and a Sig is now back in the mix with this update. Sig or Venza Limited? I was initially dead set on a Venza but: -Higher MSRP -No incentives Obviously a Venza would offer superior MPG and...

Car and Driver Compact SUV rankings

CRV still ranks higher than CX-5 in most publications. I think it’s primarily due to their new hybrid Powertrain. Surprising to see the RAV4 so low, considering their hybrids are selling so well. Seeing as how Mazda has no intent on releasing any new powertrains/hybrids or updating their old...

I thought bait & switch was gone, apparently Mark Mazda still does it

Sorry to hear about your experience. Like others have said, set a price for yourself and stick to it. The Sig is not exactly in huge demand and I would expect if you wait a few months you could end up getting a decent deal on another one seeing as how the 2021 models are just around the corner.

    Report: Diesel CX-5 Discontinued

What are you talking about? BMW and Audi both use touchscreens. Tesla also. Whenever I watch Youtube auto reviews, these reviewers always complain about companies that force you to use a dumb wheel/touchpad/mouse like Mazda, Acura, Lexus and a few others. A perfect example of how annoying they...

    Report: Diesel CX-5 Discontinued

mazda once again giving consumers things that they're not asking for like diesel engines and cylinder deactivation, and ignoring things they do want like touchscreens.

Disappointments / missing things in your CX-5?

Not if they do it right. The ZF 8 speed is an excellent transmission. Honda's 10 speed is also very good.

Disappointments / missing things in your CX-5?

They stick with a 6 speed because it's all they have. They don't have the huge R&D budget to move to an 8 or 10 speed like Honda or Toyota do. None of they engines they have achieve great fuel economy either. They are sort of middle of the road due to them not having any kind of...

Off Topic RAV4 Prime pricing announced

I haven't sat in a vehicle with Toyota's synthetic leather. Can you tell the difference between the two when sitting in them? Iv'e only seen it in videos, but it LOOKS no different than real leather.

Off Topic RAV4 Prime pricing announced

Problem with CX-5 is while it uses real leather, the seats are very uncomfortable. There just isn't much support at all. I sat in one of the CX-5 Sig, while the soft leather is nice they have very little cushioning. Almost like sitting on wood. The interior is also cramped and gets terrible gas...

    GT-R (turbo) vs. Hybrid CR-V ??

The CRV has a ton of cargo space, however the question would be how many times are you going to be packing the cargo area? We have a CRV at work which we use to move stuff around and while the cargo space is great, I've never had to stuff it to the max. If we had a CX-5, despite having less...

For those eagerly awaiting Gen 3

All that R&D for an unproven technology that tacks on an extra 6k to the cost of a vehicle. How about just building a hybrid like everyone else...CX-5 hybrid would be nice competition with CRV Hybrid and RAV4 Hybrid.

    LOL @ Rav4

AFAIK, the turbo doesn't have the issue.

    LOL @ Rav4

I don't know. All I know is pretty much every auto company has had trouble implementing CD. Then you add to the fact that the 2.5 is one of the few(maybe only) 4 cylinder engines in the world with it. And it only gets you 1 MPG in FWD and 0 MPG gain in AWD. What's the point of it? Just put out a...
