Need new tires for daughter's 2015 CX-5 Touring AWD

My concerns mirror yours as wet performance is high on my list. I don't have any experience with the Scorpion but run Continental DWS on all my vehicles including a 2019 CX5. I also put these on my daughter's 2015 CX5.

    On the fence...CX-5 20” wheels vs 19”

Wheel choice and color look very good to my eye but yours is what matters. Note that the small brakes on the CX5 will not fill the wheel like image. As for your original question, many people will tell you how terrible it is to increase wheel size (fuel economy, ride comfort, etc.) but my...

Great look, love the deep concave with flares so there’s no poke. I wish I could have found nice flairs for my ’20 model when I was searching for wheels.

Thoughts on this wheel/tire combo for a 2022 CX-5 Turbo

+1!! Mazda clearly chose to hold price points down (along with getting a bit better mileage) with the wheel/tire setup. It’s the skinniest in the segment and brings down a beautifully designed package. It’s smart though. The better quality interior was a huge selling point for me and I assume...

Thoughts on this wheel/tire combo for a 2022 CX-5 Turbo

I love the tire choice as I run those on all three of my vehicles. My main concern is wet weather performance and the Contis are great. The +45 offset is not going to be flush if that matters to you. I run 20x8.5 +40 (which is very common) and it still sits in just a bit. There are examples in...

This thread is full of cars running 255/45/20 on 8.5“ wheels. None have reported any rubbing or interference issues. I recently upgraded to the same as it is a conservative fitment.

After much consideration and reviewing this thread dozens (and dozens) of times, I've finally put some new shoes on my 2018GT. I've never seen this generation with aftermarket wheels in person so this thread was my only resource. Thanks to you all who post and keep this thread going. Although...

This is a pic of a front wheel I test fitted for flushness a while back to determine whether on not I should purchase a set. The spec was 20x9 et 35 and you can see the wheel pokes a few millimeters. Since I want to run 255 tires, that’s too much protrusion for me. A 235 tire should give a more...

    Anyone running 295 tires?

Are you running that wide on a square setup or staggered? I’ve not seen that wide of a tire on the front of a second gen cx5. Can you post picks and specs? I recall seeing a couple of people running 285 on the rear in the “show me your wheels” thread but not 295.

Staggered set up on AWD models an issue?

A couple of weeks ago, I asked the same basic question as the OP in the Show Me Your Wheels thread and got no reply. I like the look of the widest trie setup without poke. There are some posters on that thread running 9.5 or 10s on the rear. Like the OP, I don’t drive this vehicle close to its...

Open question to anyone running staggered 20s on a 2019-2020 GT awd. Have you experienced any adverse handling effects of the staggered setup? I've been stressing for months over new wheels to get rid of the skinny 225s. I want to go 20x9 +40 on the front and wider rear but am concerned about...
