Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

I agree. While I haven't signed on the dotted line yet, this sounds like a dealership made good.

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Agreed man, for sure. He just called with the offer on a 2016, and it sounds good. From what I see on edmunds it's definitely below invoice.

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Just in case anyone is following this thread with similar problems or wonders what a dealership will do in this situation. The owner called and offered to either put me in a 2016 CX5 for as close to what I paid on the preowned 2015 OR pay back my deposit, pay back the loan and personally refund...

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Yeah - that's the solution Mazda tech gave the service dep't at the dealership. But as I've just learned this car was in a wreck and started having these issues after the accident and repair, and that these issues were known by the dealership without disclosure, i'm looking to void this deal...

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

If I can get the dealership to take this car back, I think my next move is to just buy a new CX5. I can't go through this again.

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Both the carfax and autocheck were clean. But I have come to learn that does not mean much. I asked repeatedly about the car's history. And they either lied or did not talk to their service reps as they were the same ones working on this car (not to repair the damage as the prior owner took it...

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

UPDATE, for anyone reading this: Wound up reaching out to the previous car's owner (a receipt of hers was left in the car and I got her contact info). She said the car had rear ended someone, had body work done. She then began experiencing all the same issues I am having. Took it into the same...

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Yea - I doubt it would have changed so quickly .. ah well. Two weeks to rip up the car and try to reinstall something.

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Update: Just got a call from service. Mazda told them it has to be the harness for the srs restraint system. Which is apparnetly made to order. Looking at 2 weeks at least.

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Thanks, that all sounds pretty reassuring. I'm definitely not hoping for other problems. I just adhere to the 'where there's smoke, there's fire' mantra. And I'm concerned that driving off of a lot 48 hours after purchasing a 1 year old car with 1 owner, low mileage that this would happen. I'm...

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Carfax and Autocheck were clean. 1 owner, regular maintenance. No lights flashing on dash on test drive OR the following 48 hours.

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Thanks again. I will definitely update on the resolution for others. I've heard such good things about Mazda, but have to say I am pretty displeased with only having this for 48 hours before a safety issue.

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Thanks. Is this like blind hope that they figure out the issue? Is this worrisome for a car i just purchased? Or is this kind of like a "eh, it happens 1 out 100 times, it'll be fine" kind of thing? From your perspective.

They told me they were doing that yesterday. And the update today is 'still can't figure it out'

Airbag Light issue. Dealer has "no clue"

Just bought a 25k mileage 2015 cx5. As the title indicates the airbag light is flashing. It's a 3 flash 6 flash pattern for the airbag. It's all covered under warranty but I was told by the service tech that the airbags won't deploy until fixed. What are the odds this is masking a larger problem...

    TPMS and airbag light question

I did. It's been there 48 hours, they said they cannot figure it out.

    TPMS and airbag light question

I know this is an old thread, but I'm having the same issue (#1) as you with a car I just purchased (certified 2015 cx5). I sent you a PM too, but really curious if you found anything out about the airbag issue.
