I disagree that the note in the manual about bumping up psi in snow tires is to account for a drop in ambient temperature for winter. I believe they would state that if it was implied.
I’d lean towards it has to do with the softer rubber compounds used in their design and how it affects drive...
General Altimax is a good choice too. You can get them studded if need be. I used to have them in 17”s on my CX5 GT in the winter. Thing was a traction beast.

I installed the color matched splash guards this weekend. Very easy to do, but I did have to lift the front end up a bit so that my drill could fit for the underneath holes. I bought them from MazdaSwag for about 30% off.

Just change the oil every 5,000 miles. Use a high quality oil that matches the recommended weight.
And buy regular 87 octane gas. All you’ll do is waste money buying the more expensive grades.
My 2016 CX5 did this a lot. Dealer even replaced the shifter. Only way to truly eliminate it was this:
Apply foot brake while in Drive or Reverse
Shift into N
Apply parking brake
Release foot brake (to come to rest against parking brake)
Reapply foot brake
Shift into park.
Turn car off.
