Thank you "whoolian05" for your in depth reply. The EPB warning on my vehicle has gone away(for now). I have stopped using the EPB. My battery is original, over 3 yrs.old. I am going to replace the battery as you did. Probably should replace it anyway due to age . Thanks to all who replied to my OP.
