It's been so long since I've posted that I was looking for an "Electrical" section within Proteges until I realized it's considered an "old" Mazda now... ouch. :) So I believe I need to replace one of the ballasts on my hid kit as one of the headlights turns off while driving at night. I have...

    A/C pulley/bearing issue?

Alright, I believe I need a new a/c clutch bearing but I would like ya'lls opinion. My a/c pulley is "wobbling" a bit when the motor is on and I can hear a distinct noise like a pulley might be bad. If I turn on the a/c the clutch engages and the pulley seems to stabilize. When I shut off the...

    ITB's on my 1.6L

Well, I decided to put ITB's on my Protege. I know a lot of people say the 1.6 isn't worth working on but it's a stout little engine and I like my car so... why not. I bought some Haybusa ITBs which measure at 42mm. I'll be controlling them with this: Here's a couple of shots with them...

    Speed/Rev limiter on 1.6L

Just learned today that the 1.6L has it's Speed/Rev limiter set to 110mph. It felt like it was a fuel cutoff versus just being limited to that speed. Can anyone confirm this? Just curious. I'm planning on installing a Haltech E6X so I should be able to circumvent this.
