    Lowering springs or coilovers?

BC Golds have camber plates so solves the problem of the camber issues. By the time you do the lowering springs and camber arms you may as well go coilovers as the ride quality is incomparable.

    Lowering springs or coilovers?

Had my cx5 lowered on corksport springs. Rode like a brick. Chewed out the front tyres due to no camber adjustment. Just swapped them out and put BC Gold coilovers in. Rides so much better. Actually has travel now. Sits a lot nicer on the road as well. I guess it's the old saying "you get what...

    Corksport Lowering Springs Installed

Interesting answer considering it is "necessary" to have a captive spring to pass a "Warrant of Fitness" here in Nz. Even if its not law over there I wouldn't be driving a car with springs that fall out of perches when jacked up.

    Corksport Lowering Springs Installed

That's exactly right. The spring can't be loose in the shock to pass a Warrant of Fitness over here. Must be captive in the shock to pass hence the reason to shorten the shock. We could have put them in as they were and lowered the vehicle down to hold them in but wont pass out standards. You...

    Corksport Lowering Springs Installed

Wouldn't be re-threading the struts at home. definitely something that a suspension shop should be doing. If you haven't had any problems over there with them the only thing I can think of is that the CX-5's for the NZ/Australian market have different front shocks than the North American...

Yep they are 8.5" wide. My mistake. Still plenty of clearance. Probably more than what a standard Mazda3 would have.

    Corksport Lowering Springs Installed

Hey. Camber in rear is 2 degrees. Not too bad, will just mean keeping an eye on tyres and rotating every 10,000 km. If I can get 30-35k out of my tyres I will be happy. The front springs weren't captive in front struts. Had to get shortened by about 40mm. They re-thread the top of the shaft...

    Corksport Lowering Springs Installed

Hi from New Zealand. First time poster on the site. Just thought I would post up the photo of my wifes CX5 after installing the Corksport springs. Very happy with the final outcome. Ride height is good, ride quality is good. Only issue I had was that the front springs weren't captive in the...
