I'd take Pirelli over Toyo anyday. The .5 in Overall Diameter to go to the 235/55/19 would have been a killer in mileage. A 245/50/19 would be more in line for overal diameter. In that size, specific tire weight would be more of a factor for mainitaining fuel mileage.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned going to 18"s as an alternative. Playing Devil's advocate here... One could go to a 225/60/18 as a happy compromise between the 17" and the 19". In that size there are plenty of tire and wheel options that would work for the CX-5. I have the 19s and...

I do like the look of your rack, kept the dark theme. I will probably go for a change in a couple months. Did you paint it flat black or so that's what the picture looks like from the angle?

I just saw a CX-5 GT with 255/50/19 on stock wheels. The tire size is too tall for the vehicle and not my ideal choice on the stock wheels. The tire looked too big for the wheel but it's possible. I went to 245/50/19 to get Michelin's but didn't want to run the wider tire on the stock 7" wide...

Bmarsh, ordering is fairly simply. The hard part is the wait of 45-60 days for arrival. I was originally going to order one but settled for a similarly equipped version at the dealer. I decided I could live without remote start and a trailer hitch for now.

Just registered in the forum today. I washed, waxed and polished the glass on my CX-5 yesterday. Sadly, have to work today so no updates besides cruising in style :-D

I would prefer to go rack less but the CX-5 replaced a full sized truck. So I need utility portion a bit. I haven't completely decided on what to do with stock 19s just yet. I just knew I couldn't continue riding on Toyos. Toyo is a curse word for me. :)
