Terse 7 Year Review of Protege
2000 Protege ES AT w/ moonroof and side airbags package, purchased March 2000. Currently has ~70k on it. Issues under warranty: Coil failure (bad connector) Replaced both cats (killed by raw gas in them due to coil failure) Moonroof adjustment (wouldn't close correctly) Issues since then...- Random

Light rims okay for daily use?
Ours are freakin' boat anchors. :x The stock wheels/Yoko Avid H4 combo was a good 8lbs heavier per corner than my Miata wheels + Azenises. Unfortunately, my wife likes how they look so I can't just slap on a set of Koseis. :( -

Light rims okay for daily use?
No issues on my Miata with 10.5lb 14" *stock* wheels (60-series tire) or 11.2lb 15" wheels (55-series tire).
