MPG is no where close to what others are seeing

I am averaging 30mpg with 30 miles of freeway and about 8 miles of local per trip. I'm on my 2nd tank of gas. My drive is in traffic with a little stop and go, as well as driving at 60-65mph. I don't get into the 70's but if I do I noticed a substantial reduction to MPG. 1st tanks didn't go so...

    H&R lowering springs

Primary reason for the information is that Toyota's original intention is for the tech that is installing the springs is to align the vehicle. It's a Toyota Standard and not an industry standard. The majority if not all suspension companies will not specify alignment specification. Toyota has a...

    H&R lowering springs

from my experience with springs, coilovers, and any other suspension mods, they do not provide alignment specifications. The main reason is it's personal preference if you want more turn in or less. Also how much wiggle in the steering wheel at freeway speeds. All alignment shops will do are...

    H&R lowering springs

oh well...broke down and bought the H&R springs. The standard height is just a tad taller then I'd like so I'm dropping it (sorta). I didn't look into the spec, but hope the spring rate is increased slightly to compensate as I'll be towing bikes (bicycles). haha! I don't need the extra height...

    H&R lowering springs

Completely understand that. But with coilovers, changing a pair of springs can help accommodative to a heavier car. Plus changing a sway bar from say a mazdaspeed 6 could also potentially be a thicker bar then the cx5 currently has. Reason I asked is this is how my 2004 Forester was, and I...

    My CX-5 w/2.5L review

Understand about the trans issue but not a lot to go with considering all other aspects. Trunk is smaller then my departed 2004 forester xt. But like I said the passenger area(front and rear seating area) is the largest. With my son growing so fast we need all the space we can get. Mixed...

Those Taking Delivery of 2014 CX-5 w/ 2.5L Power Plant

After driving the MY14 Touring home, all I have to say is that if you think the 2.0L lacked power, and wished it had a little more get the 2.5L. It's not a little and the torque kicks in way down low. The MPG for local driving may suffer, but you don't need to slam the peddle down to get it to...

    My CX-5 w/2.5L review

We recently gave our 12 Sienna SE to my in-laws and needed a new car for my wife. We wanted something a little bigger than our Prius but smaller and more fuel efficient then our Sienna. So the quest for a small SUV began. Vehicles I selected as potentials are the following and all run around...

Those Taking Delivery of 2014 CX-5 w/ 2.5L Power Plant

My mistake too. I was only reading hwy mpg. The city is down to 25 and combine down to 27. Just deive home and the 2.5l has way more down low torque. Didn't even go over 3k to get it going.
