2017~2024 Mazda Sales.... Not So Good

I am surprised it look this long... This is the most subsidized industry to date. The car industry has seen very little innovation. The difference between 2007 car and 2017 car is mostly inclusion of iPad like device. The cars are too expensive for 90% of people. Long gone are the years...

OEM Remote Start - Registering fobs

Go back to this thread and find my responses. I believe there was very short time limit between operations, I forgot which ones exactly. Registering those fobs was hard.

Brake Fluid Drain/Fill, Mazda dealer says NO

People still go to the dealer to let them touch their cars. Here you go... Dealers did not touch my cars since new. Brake flush done at 44K in both. At least I know what got out and what got in in terms of fluids.

Diesel CX5 has landed in the USA

LOL. I have Tesla model Y on order. Can't wait to get rid of 1 of my CX-5s. 42K and still drive poison car.

Stopping that incessant rattle from the rear CX-5 hatch

Fold your seats down and drive. See if noise is still there. If it is gone with folded seats, it is likely the clamp that holds seats in place. I had to use a piece of rag to make it tighter that there is no play which made the noise. It was the middle one in my case.

It amazes me that in 10 years....

Well, nothing has changed. It is chairs propelled by poison that burns and makes another poison. Nothing's new, except few ipad like gimmicks. You still have to drive it and make 2x monthly payments for 5 years, in most cases. This is the sad truth. Most people don't care and buy.

    Gas mileage with/without rack?

I'd be surprised if it was down more than 1MPG. I'd not sweat it really. I have one with the rack and one without one. No difference perceived.

2016 Cx-5 sport oil change interval 5000 miles or 10,000 miles?

10K are fine, IMO. Make sure you use an oil filter that 'supports' 10K I know people change just the filter at 5K and oil at 10.

    2016 CX-5 rotors rusted, brakes gone at 24,645 miles = $900

I have 2 CX-5s. Both are in Chicago. 5 and 6 years old. 61K each. Brakes were fine at 40K. Changed pads anyway. Will do my brakes at 80K. Brakes at dealer, ah? Well, that seems to explain the costs. Good luck

    Drove a 2019 Signature Yesterday

I agree with OP. For 38K it ain't too much to ask in 'Signature' trim.

    Brake Flush @ 53k miles

Yes, I did. Had "specially designed" one to limit the travel. Brakes have been fine since then, 2 years - 20K miles.

    UGH... another remote start thread

By looking at the MT install PDF: http://cdn02.fortin.ca/download/68261/evo-one_ig_thr_bi_maz3-3-6-cx5_pts_2014-2017_1key_a_68261.pdf It looks like it differs only by 1 extra connection - clutch bypass A5. I believe, you can skip the parking lights as those are optional.

    UGH... another remote start thread

I have this but for AT. Talk to Fortin folks, they will let you know for sure. By looking at the diagrams, it looks like it will work: http://fortin.ca/en/vehicles/mazda/cx-5/2014-push-to-start_manual/ Make sure you get the RIGHT wiring diagram.

    Brake Flush @ 53k miles

Did both of mine at ~40K/ 3 and 4 years. Kid was pumping the pedal. Was not bad at all. Replaced with really good fluid.

100K miles, and stuff needs done...here's what!

How difficult is it to replace both belts and tensioner?
  18. G

    Squirrels did this...

Normal. Happened to both my CX-5s. In my case those were mice. Chewed some electric tape from coil wires too.
