    plastidip rims and painted calipers

Dude... Did you see my CX-5 and decide to do the same thing? My calipers are painted yellow and my rims are powdercoated matte black. I also live in NC...

    DRL replacement

You want the second link with the Halogen kit. You do not need the first link at all.

    DRL replacement

My replacement parts finally arrived and I got everything set up properly now. I zip tied the resistor to that support bar on the side. No wires or zip ties are anywhere near it so nothing will melt this time around. Also, the resistor doesn't get hot at all now, so I may have had a faulty part...

I hope the mounting tape is heat proof...

    DRL replacement

Yeah it had the third plug, I left it open. It doesn't matter which side you plug the resistor into.

Not sure what the third plug is for. I guess it's just extra.

    DRL replacement

After looking a little closer I discovered that the wire on the resistor is also melted. Sending that back as well.

After much debate, and me telling them they were stupid, IJDMTOY is sending me replacement parts free of charge. So we will see what happens when I get it installed and working again.

    DRL replacement

I choose not to let it hang because I didn't want it rattling around. It's not the design, it's just that I had the decoder, which runs extremely hot, right up next to this wire.

    DRL replacement

I stuck them together not realizing how hot the decoder can get. It's got screw holes on it so I assume you can mount it somewhere so it's probably fine away from everything. Nothing else appears to be damaged. I'm seeing if they will send me replacement parts so I don't have to buy it again...

    Installed Headlight LED DRLs

You want the Xenon one. The Halogen one comes with an extra part to regulate the voltage which you do not need.

    DRL replacement

I discovered that the little heat sink on the decoder gets so hot that it can melt wires. It melted the wire that came with the LED's and caused them to stop working. I just learned the hard way not to stick the decoder anywhere near anything. Trying to get a replacement.

I may have spoken too soon about these. They don't seem to be working anymore.

    DRL replacement

Once you turn the headlights on they turn off. You CAN turn them on with the headlights by activating the high beams, but there is no intensity difference between the high beams and the DRL's. Also it looks weird with the two lights being different colors.

    DRL replacement

Nope, just attach the decoder and the bulbs and you're good to go. That's it.
  18. U

    DRL replacement

Correct, you need the Halogen version. The kit comes with two LED "bulbs," the decoder, and the wire to hold both LED's. You plug the decoder into one of the plugs where the old bulb was. You plug the wire that holds both LED's into the other socket. There are no high beams anymore as the LED's...

    Installed Headlight LED DRLs

Just installed this on my non-tech package CX-5 and it works perfectly. I don't really have high beams now though... http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Mazda-CX-5-LED-Daytime-Running-Light-Kit-p/mazda-cx-5-drl.htm
