2012 CX9 things to look out for? Warranty Issues?

That's a good list. My car just made its 5 year birthday too. The good news - it's PAID FOR! (and has only 15k miles). The better news - I picked up the 8yr / 100k mile service contract. She just had the ball joints changed. (free) but I'll keep an eye on the brakes.

2012 cx-9 moonroof wind noise... even when CLOSED

Not an issue with me, if the visor is closed. But I suspect the OEM roof rails (And Thule Aeros bars when mounted) make lots of noise. To be honest, I get more road noise from the stock Duelers. Drowns out everything else. Even the radio. I think the deflector is a great idea. Fix what...

    CX-9 Real MPG

Checking back in… With 2 years on the vehicle, the best I have gotten is 15-16 mpg. Living on an island, most trips are short = 5-35 miles and under 55 mph. But it's warm. Most of my V6 vehicles have averaged 22 mpg with enthusiastic driving.

NHTSA looking into 2010-11 CX-9 brake booster failures...

The GM inquisition touched a raw nerve with the manufacturers. They are bending over backwards to preempt potential political and financial fallout. (Spiders in the fuel line are the big scare with Mazda right now. Again). But brakes are a serious matter. I received the brake program notice...

    2013 CX-9 GT "Hidden" Features

chance, that's a great tip. To let folks know, the reverse for that function is to hold down the drivers side door lock button. All the open windows will slide closed while the button is depressed.

First impressions of my new 2013 CX-9 Grand Touring (I like it but pheeeew)

My salesman implied that you could take just the key to the beach and swim with it. I think I'll wait a bit to try that. (whistle)

User Guide for Mazda Handsfree ?

I think even switching the mode and power buttons didn't work. Had to actually open an iphone audio app and look for that tiny bluetooth symbol. If you find something better, please post it.

User Guide for Mazda Handsfree ?

That's pretty good - I've been able to get her to send text at times. The only problem is she grabs total control of the bluetooth system and won't give it back to the radio. Noodling with those iphone audio functions while at speed is just as bad as texting... If i'm lucky I'll get to a...

First impressions of my new 2013 CX-9 Grand Touring (I like it but pheeeew)

It's around 30" from the side doors or the rear. Then anyone quicker than you is free to drive her off,.. Tell me Sat, do you really like the trendy new ability to open a trunk with your foot? I kinda worry about my car outfoxing me. Most toasters I've owned can do that. (lol2)

First impressions of my new 2013 CX-9 Grand Touring (I like it but pheeeew)

If you have a power liftgate, it's a real liability and there should be an extra step to prevent damage or injuries, but the 2nd clicks for passenger doors and trunklock are a PIA. Some engineer will have an excuse, (er, I mean explanation) for this. "Designed to keep stalkers out of your...

User Guide for Mazda Handsfree ?

I was surprised too Bob. They say updates are coming, and that may be true, but have ANY updates ever been made available to owners thus far? The current mobile electronics trend will put pressure on Mazda to do this.

1 As I understand it, your new car can be programmed to lock automatically via proximity, (no buttons) but not unlock.

The new 2013 units allow upload and deletion of individual contacts now. Up to 1000. Just not editing of the data on the unit. Do this on your phone and do a quick reimport. If you can load this url, it has the feature sets that work for the various phones. No text message interaction for...

Just a general compliment to the CX-9 Bose stereo

Yer welcome Law. Senor V., I completely understand your comments about the degradation of the Bose mystique and quality. I was being kind. Most of their new home stereo systems are marginal sounding and also offer no EQ. The "legendary bose sound" kinda feels flat and underwhelming to me...
