Three of the bolts holding the engine splash cover of my 1999 Protege are fused/rusted in place and I have had an autoshop offer to remove and replace them for $40 per bolt. Should I have these replaced, or just remove the splash shield all together? I have limited tools and unable to do this...

My mechanic tells me that my oil pan gasket seal is leaking and needs replacing - is this a relatively easy job that I could do, or should I pay my mechanic big bucks to have him do it? I have a 99 Protege 1.6L engine.

It's just now getting cold in Arkansas and we've started using the seat warmers. We notice that the seats barely get warm - we contacted our local dealer who sais that we have to be sitting in the seats for the warmers to heat up.....obviously we have been sitting after pre warming the car but...
