    EGR Valve

My CX-7 has about 35k miles on it. The engine light came on and the dealer said the EGR valve needs to be replaced. It cost $900. Has anyone else had a problem with their EGR valve? (or how it gets damaged?) I took a look at the replaced part and it looks fine to me.

    7500 miles

So currently I am at ~7000 miles. I brought my CX-7 in for an oil change and a service bulletin regarding a clunking metal sound. They are going to replace some part to remove the clunking noise and they said I might as well do the 7500 mile minor service. What mileage are people at with their...

    maxed out

Tonight I floored and maxed out my car @ 117mph or 119mph -- it was too close to the bar I couldn't really tell. But you could feel the cut-off take place. The engine runs strong up until that point and then all of a sudden it feels different and held back. The interesting thing is that the car...

    front door hinge area....

I recently got my CX-7 serviced for a service bulletin about the driver and driver-side passenger panels being wrinkled. I had them replaced and I noticed that in the area near the door hinge on the front doors, parts of this foam-like, insulator material is sticking out from the door panel. I...

    roof rack?

anyone have a roof rack on their CX-7? I'm considering getting one (there's a link in the marketplace forum) but I am wondering how it looks with one? And whether it's worth the $209 (rack) + $100 (ski holder) for my snowboards.

    Final Quality Insurance (FQI) ???

I got a call from a Mazda representative (I think from my original dealership) asking me to bring in the car for a Final Quality Inspection (FQI). Does anyone know what this is and what it's for? The representative said something about CX-7's and RX-8's having to undergo FQI after a few months...

    how to break in cars

the general consensus is to break cars in easy because (i think) the moving parts in the engine/cylinder have small pieces of metal that break off when first driven which can cause damage to the engine. but in another post someone mentioned that cars need to be broke in by flooring them...

    black interior/upholstery

I have a light exterior body color and so I got a black interior. But I noticed since the first day I got it that hte upholstery gets white smurks on them really, really easily. While I'm driving all I do is touch my knee against the left, driver side door panel and there is a white streak on...

    loud clicking sound at startup

Anyone hear a loud click sound in the morning when you start your CX-7 up cold and switch it to drive from park? I notice this when the engine seems to be warming up at around 2,000RPM. I usually have to wait a few minutes for it to warm up and drop itself to 1,000RPM before I switch from park...

    cx-7 and problems

I've driven 1,700 miles and have had no problems. Are there any older CX-7 owners with higher mileages? Have you had any problems?

    low RPM question

I know the CX-7 engine is a tuned Mazdaspeed engine to deliver more power at lower RPMs. But often times when I am starting off from a full stop, and keep my foot at a constant level on the gas pedal, it seems like the engine over-delivers and I have to let go of the gas pedal in order to stop...

    turbo cooldown question

In the CX-7 Manuals it says that after long freeway or up-hill drives, before you shut off the engine, you should let the turbo cooldown for 30 seconds to avoid damage to the engine. My question is how long is a "long" freeway drive or up-hill drive? If I drive 30 minutes to work on the...
