I got my MSP shift knob and it doesn't fit on my 99 protege. It seems like the plastic disc at the top of the shift boot is preventing the knob from going all the way down. I know this has been asked before but would rather not do anything permanent to the car. Does anybody have any suggestions?

I bought a 99 protege that had an aftermarket clifford alarm. It has the blinking red light on the dash. However the previous owner lost the remote. I have no idea what model the alarm is nor do I have no idea where it is located. How would I go about getting another remote for the alarm?
