where was the info on what optima battery to use and how to install? was it a 35 using the spacer underneath the battery for an easy fit?

I have had my "5" since september and am very careful doing oil changes (mobil 1 5-30).....I bought it "as new" with only 6400 miles.....as i check the dipstick, it is on the full line after about 3.2 quarts......less than in the book.....(stock filter).....must be normal, right? I don't want...

Can I easily remove the side skirts and will it look fine on my 2003 P5?......are there any clips or is the surface smooth underneath? I am not a fan of the skirts and think I would prefer the look without them....Are there any other attachments which would show or will the surface underneath...
