Is there anything "bad" that can happen by removing the first part of the original mp5 intake? It just seems so stupid to have a small intake like that sitting and sucking warm air from above the radiator. I attached a file with an arrow pointing to the do-hickey that I want to rip out.

Is the european 323F the same as the US protege 5? I saw that the 323F Sport comes with a 150 hp 2.2 litre motor, would that one work as a replacement for the 2.0 motor we have for the p5? Any one know if they have the same transmission? It would be great to simply slap one of those on.

After doing some "thinking" I've come to the conclusion that I want to do the following to my 2k2 mp5: 1. upgr. intake 2. upgr. cams 3. upgr. headers (not avail?) 4. upgr. exhaust 5. upgr. ecu (appearently not available) 6. maybe upgr. flywheel 7. upgr. anything else?? I'm looking for at least...

Could any one give some advice how to easiest and cheapest get 150-170 hp in a p5. Keeping it smog legal would be a big bonus. Thanks 2k2 mp5..205 miles..no mods..to slow...
