Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

Yeah. My CX5’s ride definitely felt more “squishy” with the snow tires. Upping the pressure a bit helped mitigate it somewhat.

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

I disagree that the note in the manual about bumping up psi in snow tires is to account for a drop in ambient temperature for winter. I believe they would state that if it was implied. I’d lean towards it has to do with the softer rubber compounds used in their design and how it affects drive...

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

I ran mine +4 PSI per the owners manual. I’ll have to check if they recommend the same for the CX70.

Who is switching to winter tires and steel wheels?

General Altimax is a good choice too. You can get them studded if need be. I used to have them in 17”s on my CX5 GT in the winter. Thing was a traction beast.

I’m back on the wagon again - CX-70 Turbo S

OEM Cargo Mat. It’s a 2 piece design that has easy folding to allow access to the under-floor storage compartments. Found it for 20% off with free shipping.

I’m back on the wagon again - CX-70 Turbo S

Husky XACT Contour Floor Mats. I’d give the driver side an A+ and the passenger side a B+ (one gap on the left/inside about half way up). Still waiting on the rear piece after a month.

I’m back on the wagon again - CX-70 Turbo S

Even at 30% off they were still pricey. LOL. But the fit and finish is second to none.

I’m back on the wagon again - CX-70 Turbo S

Yeah, I was leery of it being bright candy apple red. But it’s a nice sophisticated looking color despite the lighting seen for some online pictures.

I’m back on the wagon again - CX-70 Turbo S

I installed the color matched splash guards this weekend. Very easy to do, but I did have to lift the front end up a bit so that my drill could fit for the underneath holes. I bought them from MazdaSwag for about 30% off.

    Oil and change frequency?

I had a 2005 Mazda6 for about ten years. Fantastic car. Just change the oil every 5,000 miles. Use a high quality oil that matches the recommended weight. And buy regular 87 octane gas. All you’ll do is waste money buying the more expensive grades.

Hard to get gear selector out of Park?

My 2016 CX5 did this a lot. Dealer even replaced the shifter. Only way to truly eliminate it was this: Apply foot brake while in Drive or Reverse Shift into N Apply parking brake Release foot brake (to come to rest against parking brake) Reapply foot brake Shift into park. Turn car off. When...

Mechanic way overfilled the power steering reservoir

You’d have to post a picture of what you’re describing color wise.

Mechanic way overfilled the power steering reservoir

I’d just remove the excess with a baster, siphon, etc.

What grade oil do you prefer?

I didn’t own it long enough to have the oil tested. But I’ve never been that anal or curious about that level of detail. Some people get really into that stuff though. For each their own.

What grade oil do you prefer?

Agree. But it seems like 0W-20 is suggested in the US just to eke out a fractionally larger MPG rating. Most of the rest of the world uses 5W-30. I haven’t had a turbo engine in 20 years. Don’t remember what I used way back then.

What grade oil do you prefer?

This is the video. He talks about how Mazda mandated 5W-30 in all turbo engines. They only recommend 0W-20 if it has Moly. My local Mazda dealer buys 0W-20 in bulk and its not the same thing. When I asked them about 0W-20 with Moly years ago after I bought my 2016 CX5 they had no idea what I was...

What grade oil do you prefer?

I know it comes with 0W-20 in USA, but I am thinking of switching to 5W-30 at the 5,000 mile oil change interval. An oil change video on YouTube by a Mazda tech on a CX90 convinced me it’s probably the correct path to go. I also used 5W-30 in my QX70 with good results. Thoughts?

I’m back on the wagon again - CX-70 Turbo S

Thanks @Antoine I probably won’t do many mods since it’s pretty well equipped as is. However I’ll get some lower grill inserts to match the main grill once they become available. But I installed a new dog seat cover for the pup. Trying one of these platform style ones out this time.
