Do a search on this site, I remember seeing a few posts couple years ago outlining how to disable it. Also check with Mazda, they were replacing these units free of charge but I'm not sure of the specifics. I'm sure others will chime in.
Senior moment, checked my records and I had the coolant changed at 52,000 in the 2019.
Hard keeping track of two CX-5's.
Changed the 2016 at 43,000 miles.
Do you know when Mazda switched the coolant? I had the newer coolant put into my 2016 last year but I'm trying to figure out if my 2019 has the old or new coolant.
Actually they don't feel as nimble as the previous gen. I enjoy driving my 16 more than my 19. It just feels like it hugs the road better. May be the 17" tires compared to the 19" or that it's a little lighter. Each has it's plusses and minuses.
Yep, many times but how many times has the plaintiff actually prevailed? The EPA created the ruling and the EPA ended it and the govt. has tons of lawyers and money.
This goes far beyond I-Stop and CD.
0w20 on the 16 NA. All oil changes done at the dealer. Whatever they use.
I think the Turbo takes 5w20 or maybe it's 5w30. Too lazy to go out and lift the hood to see what the oil cap says.
You shouldn't have a problem getting 15 yrs. I'm hitting 11 yrs (Purchased Apr 2015) on my 16 Touring and it still runs/feels new. Zero problems.
Our two Mazda's have been the most reliable, least expensive vehicles we've ever owned and we've owned a lot.
Sounds like a good strategy. Mazda says those fluids are lifetime but they don't say how they define lifetime. My guess lifetime to them is till the warranty ends.
I guess by transfer case they're talking about transferring power to all the wheels that need it when slipping is detected.
I also had the same worries with my 2019 Turbo. Decided to purchase a Mazda extended warranty and keep the vehicle. Currently have the same mileage as you and
no signs of the issue. There was a flurry of reports a few years back but lately it's been quiet.
If you like the car you can look into...
Think it was either mid to late 70's. Maybe early 80's.
Back when they stuffed terrible 4 cylinders into a lot of domestic vehicles.
I had a 4cyl Mustang and it was a dog. About 90 hp.
