Where is the oil level at on the dipstick? be sure to take the reading at least 5 mins after engine shut off.
If it's just slightly above the max mark, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If it's like an inch or more, I'd probably do a drain and fill just to be safe.
About 130k kms I think? Only the front passenger strut was leaking. Lowering springs were installed at 90k kms. I think they would have gone a lot longer if I hadn't hit so many potholes last year.
I would go OEM, but in my case, the prices were ridiculous. I went with FCS struts when I had to replace my leaking fronts. FCS doesn't have the best reputation, but they were just fine on my lowered 2018.
I also replaced the passenger side front LCA on my 2018 at the same time. I had the same...
Yep that was many many years ago. It shouldn't apply to a brand new 2025, since the TSB was applicable to 2019-2020 CX-5 Turbos only. 2021s got a revised PCM that should include the correction.
@involutions, post #663 from the thread above has more detailed info if you want to bring the car to...
It may be important to note that the 1st gen didn't have as much sound deadening and NVH mitigation as the 2nd gen, so the 1st gen feels more "raw" and less refined than the newer models, which can make it feel faster than it is. Additionally, the new car may still be "learning" how you drive...
I hardwired a Redtiger dashcam in my 2022 CX-9 earlier this year. I also hardwired a Redtiger dashcam in my wife's 2006 Civic. I used the video below for guidance as I had never hardwired a dashcam before, and it helped a ton.
I also found this video, which goes into a little more detail and...
I ran PUP on my 2018 for the first like 30k kms, then switched to Kirkland and I've been running it to 137k kms, when I traded it in. I have enough oil to do one more OCI on Kirkland for my 2022, but I think I may just keep that oil for an emergency and switch back to PUP if I can catch a sale...
When I was younger I wanted to save money and still get good sound, so the custom route was very popular in my crowd. Now that I'm older, custom still makes sense to save money, but it also allows you to customize the sound and appearance more to your liking with different resonators and muffler...
This could very well be the case, but I also think the dealership is trying to scare you into paying for a costly replacement at their dealership rates.
If it were me, I would remove the headlight, and go over all possible seams where a leak could occur with a weather resistant silicone...
Paying for a full catback or axleback exhaust means you get a product that easily bolts onto the existing system, no additional welding needed, with perfect fitment. Usually, it also means that you get mandrel bends instead of crush bends, allowing exhaust to flow more freely.
Going the custom...
Thanks for the holiday wishes! Happy holidays to you too!
My most memorable Christmas is probably when my oldest was 1. Watching her rip her own gifts open for the first time just made me so happy and excited for her.
Normal operating temp is about 90c. It would climb to 115c at stoplights, then drop to 90c a few seconds after taking off from a stop. Some fluctuation is normal, but this was way too much fluctuation in a much shorter time.
Coolant temp gauge would read normal operating temperature, then show higher temps when stopped at a light or when idling. Temps would drop immediately once I started accelerating again, back to a normal temp.
From what I recall, Comma.AI adds lane centering capability to vehicles that don't have it. The CX-5 only has lane keep assist otherwise.
I didn't know that it now adds the features above. I certainly would not trust it in any scenario but it's interesting that they offer it.
1) Engine was displaying inconsistent temperatures, narrowed it down to a faulty thermostat or a faulty engine coolant temperature sensor. I replaced both because 2) the sensor was tedious to get to, but in the same area as the thermostat. Not hard by any means. 3) The new thermostat and ECT...
That is correct, there is no removable center console between the two seats in this configuration (commonly called "Captain's Chairs" in the US/CAN market).
The Signature or top trim of the CX-9 does have a center console between the two captain's chairs, but I don't think it's removable.
I used the OEM Mazda FL-22 in the newer 55/45 formulation when I replaced the thermostat in my 2018 CX-9. Given the existence of a TSB that specifically calls out the use of Mazda's FL-22 vs. a prediluted alternative or a mixed from concentrate solution, I decided that I wouldn't take that...
