I'll preface this with a disclaimer that I'm overall happy with this vehicle. On to my gripe.
Occasionally I will notice a noise that bugs me, I suspect below 20hz. Its almost like a wind buffeting effect but I notice it at idle when not moving. Anybody else noticed this with their CX9? Any...
Yokohama HT's with the eco leaf stamp. I like them. I have their AT's on one of my other vehicles and also am happy with those. Sharp response and tracky, I could see maybe some people not liking that.
Which model of Falkens are they? I'm curious. I'd try searching some varied non-mazda...
I haven't had this yet in the CX9, but in other vehicles its always been a hose or sensor, like a previous comment mentioned. Usually a gummed up solenoid/sensor on the intake manifold. Like a cold start high idle air valve, or air intake temp deal, or something along those lines.
The fact...
On the test drive I romped on it, felt the torks, heard the whoosh. Heard the tires. I was sold.
It sounds different than the other turbo vehicles I have had.. almost sounds like a supercharger. Speaking of sounds, I also get some undesirable ELF noise from the CX9 which I never have had...
Yep not as much room as some of the other options, but its worth it for me. You can always do a cargo box on the hitch.. I'd even prefer that to going back to a land barge.
If you can score a lease deal at $375 or less on a sport.. and assuming you will save $50 to $100 a month on gas costs versus a v6 or v8 3row.. CX9 sport lease starts looking real good! Anyway this is how I talked myself into choosing a CX9. Maybe it will work for some of the other folks out...
IMO can't go wrong with any 6, no matter what you have to pay for one. Good car and the 2.5 is a great motor. I may grab a used one soon. I think by the time you up spec a 3, you may as well go for the 6. Personally I'd prefer a base 6 to a loaded 3, but I know some folks will feel...
Agree 4t's are great, reason for my user name! The CX9 replaced our family's last remaining non 4t vehicle. We have five of various ages.
I don't know what it is about 6's but I've never had any luck with MPG driving them. IMO may as well have a v8 if you're going that route. Modern v8's...
Not counting inline 5t's and turbo diesels.. several Chrysler powered cars and VW's.
If a Mazda5 or Mazda6 were offered with a 2.5t and a manual trans... I'd have a hard time not getting one or both.
What about you? What have you had??
Yep, the electronic throttle delay is merely annoying on some cars, downright dangerous on others. I'm sure it has led to hundreds if not thousands of accidents whether the accident victims realize it or not. On the other hand, it probably prevents other different types of accidents...
27! Nice.. I've had good luck on mileage with my old dodge, which also happens to be a two and a half liter four cylinder turbo. My good experiences with 4t's was a big influence on my choosing this mazda over other brand's offerings. You get that v6 grunt when you need it, and 4 cylinder...
In my experience with modern cars, its not just turbo cars that have lag. Every throttle by wire vehicle I've driven has some level of electronic throttle delay. On a turbo car its hard to tell how much of the lag is turbo related and how much is due to the rest of the engine electronics and...
Right, cx5 is class leading, as is the cx9 in the 3rd row market. I looked at the hybrid Pacifica, but production is slow out of the gate and I was on a time crunch. Also they are EXPENSIVE! 42k versus 32k for the mazda. 10k$ buys a lot of fuel, and in any case its not a directly comparable...
Aw man thats awesome you guys.. I'll be stoked to get 22+ after getting 18 max in v6 vehicles. Which was under the EPA city rating on those!
4mpg doesn't sound like much, but we got to remember percentage wise its a much larger improvement than say 28 to 32. The mpg thing is kind of...
Just picked up a new CX9.. wondering if any people out there who has put some good mileage on can report some fuel economy numbers? Coming from a guzzling v6 I'm hoping to at least get close to the EPA city rating.
I leased because first, money is tight, second.. long term reliability and fuel economy are unproven as of yet on this model. And who knows, a great plug in 3rd row cross may be available in 3 years that will get my fuel cost down to zero. Maybe not, but fingers crossed. The current local...
