That is an adapter for a 2g DSM to use a real bov on it. 2g DSM bov's suck. Its a 1g DSM bov that I think you want/are looking for. The 1g bov's are metal, the 2gs are plastic and not flanged.

Reach up on the back of them and see if you can feel a tab on the side of the reflector that is towards the center of the car. I believe you have to push that tab towards the outside of the car and it will pop out. here is an ebay set where you can see the back...

I reached up from underneath on the back side and popped them out. The clip you are trying to get free is on the inner (towards center of car) part of the reflector. It is kinda tight in there and the drivers side one has more stuff in the way iirc.

It looks to me like its a stock front with some customizing done to it. I could be way off though.

If you are real careful you can get it off w/o removing the grill. I just reached through the M and unclipped the tabs. There is one on each side, right and left.
