    2018 CX-9 New Owner Comments

Agreed.. The low RPM torque is amaze. I mean its good not just for a four pot, but good for anything. Said it about a hundred times, but I'l keep going cause its true. So refreshing after the laggy throttle cars I've driven lately (including one v8!).

I have been wondering the exact same. My guess on Camry and Accord is the reliability factor... in the past ripped off by shady dealers (or indys) on repair/maintenance so badly that any (perceived or real) reliability advantage trumps everything else about the choices. Like shell shock...

My kids are fine in the 3rd row even on 100 degree days.. They tell me the 2nd row a/c floor vents blow to the 3rd row down low. I haven't been back there to confirm. As far as a burbly V8 durango goes.. may not be our cup of bacon, but there is a market for that sort of thing. If we...

Same here. I also would never have a Q7... even if I could afford one. FYI fuelly reports are in the 13-19 window for late model Durango v8. v8 is not the economy curse it used to be. Its also not got the huge torque and power advantage it used to enjoy over 4's and 6's.

I can see the appeal of the Durango. The old-school low-tech V8 RWD muscle truck but with modern amenities. If you don't do tons of miles I guess fuel economy wouldn't be high on your list. I'd never buy one, but I can see the appeal. Personally I'd rather have the real deal circa 1965-1975...

Agree and also I will add that in the 29k to 32k range the base CX9 is the same, nothing that offers what it offers.

It is common for track day or drag strip photos/videos to be posted on forums including license plate numbers. Or photos showing modifications to be posted on forums. I know I've had my car, plates and all, posted up by others in photo, on track. Also its pretty standard to have the full...

Right, I'd be surprised if the manufacturers (and dealers even) ignored the forums. I've heard of cases where voided warrantees resulted from content in forum posts. Should never post anything under one's real name on a car forum that could bite you in the ass like that. Would also not do...

Its not a rule, but neither is there a rule against him calling you out on your unusual level of criticism. Thou doth protest too much.. almost enough to make one think you secretly LOVE the damn thing. Yea so its got its share of issues, but its a pretty good car. And its not just us...

Just Bought a 2017 GT AWD - Love it but why such bad gas mileage?

The back is for sure the place you want to pack extra gear, not the top. Anybody try one of the strap on soft carriers? AKA backpack? I want one, but am scared of scratching the finish up

    2016 model observations, need opinions

The tire noise would worry me. I think tires are regional thing where different brands cover different areas. I've heard of several brands on these things already. The rust thing and emblem thing would not worry me. It would be better if they recessed the sensor, but how often does one hit...

Just Bought a 2017 GT AWD - Love it but why such bad gas mileage?

Right, I was gonna write that in my last post too, the CX-9 you can get in a base for high twenties. That cost difference is huge. But really the whole TSI/TFSI line of motors is just good. If you want an example that is more cost equal look at Passat vs. Mazda6. They are neck and neck on...

Just Bought a 2017 GT AWD - Love it but why such bad gas mileage?

Come on, CX9 0-60 is 7.2 seconds... not 8.2. http://www.caranddriver.com/mazda/cx-9 But yes I agree with your point that the Q7 is very impressive on power and mpg!

Anyone Here Get Their 2.5T Tuned Yet?

I wonder why the boost is limited to the lower RPM range, maybe heat soak? Or fuel economy? Or not enough spring pressure for the intake valves? Its actually more stressful on pistons/rods/crank to make hp at lower rpm..

I personally would buy a Kodo styled 6spd Mazda speed5, if it offered 6 seats and sliding doors. But I recognize that would be too weird to bring to market. I had a thought, maybe the sport 3row suv segment is also a little weirder than we think. By regular folk's standards.. those people...

    2017 CX 9 Customer Reviews

CX5 sells five times as many a month as CX9, seems like there is a justifiable market for sport 2 row SUV's. IMO CX9 is a sport 3 row done just as well, but maybe the market is just too small for such a beast no matter how well you do it. 3row customers want space, not handling. I guess...

    Hows the 2.5T?

Feels much like a diesel. And without some of the downsides of a diesel. Gobs of low rpm power. Well matched for what this type of vehicle has to do IMO. Opposite power band of some of the other stuff I have driven where its all top end and it makes you wait for it. Refreshing in that way...

Door Edge Guards: Yea or Nay??

Doesn't mazda ship them with a clear edge guard standard? I think mine has it. These doors open WIDE. You double the width of the car by opening both doors up!

Just Bought a 2017 GT AWD - Love it but why such bad gas mileage?

Is it 100% city stop and go driving? What % mix?? Keep tracking the mileage and post updates. Yes the modern v-8's can do 17mpg with a decent amount of highway miles averaged in. I have a feeling a v-8 F150 would have done a lot worse than 17 for the type of driving you are probably doing...
