hahaha, please , don't get those mazda air fryer fanatics going on this thread !!
and I also agree, how many speeds do you need ! 6 is plenty , not unless you live
in germany or drive 90-100mph over extended distances ....
I am very curious to see if they keep the 2.5 liter gas engine with cylinder deactivation for 2020 or,
drop that engine all together and just use the turbo and diesel ?
2 oil changes.......... well that'll be 2 years............
Just not used to the drag on the cx5 from 20-10mph......... should be in 2 years though........
Ok, just to update.......... went to dealer today for the C.D pcm fix and asked the mechanic about my cooling
fans not coming on........
He started cx5 and turned the ac on max and then said , I can hear it running ....... well I couldn't , and popped the
hood , and both were running...
just checked my ac with a heat gun , which is accurate with other thermometers ........ and with ac on full
after a couple of minutes it was reading 27 degrees f... !! at the vent ..........
freezing cold, but not complaining .......
well, had my cx5 pcm software updated for the 'fix' today........ took about 20 minutes.....
the mechanic that did the flash said version he is using now is 13.06........
he said increase oil pressure to keep rocker arm in place plus the timing was off and this
new pcm fixed that also...
well, I have this tender and have left it on motorcycles and lawn mowers for months on end
without problems .
Could I do the same with the cx 5 battery ???
Don't need to , just wondering

thanks...
I have complained about this premature deceleration also........ , still can't get used
to it...... 500 miles on engine....
Coast to light , and you can feel the engine pull the speed down , especially from
20mph to 10mph...... then at 10mph it releases or switches gears and then it'll
coast...
just to add my two cents...... I think the paint is to thin or soft......
I had a 99 ranger for 30 years, we have a couple of indoor cats ...
never had a scratch on the truck from them....... first time I brought
the cx5 home....... next morning , small cat claw scratches........
they came out...
so, now it sounds like some are saying to not do this pcm update ! since it masks the issue..........
wish I kept my good old reliable 99 ranger.... for a few more years........
so, to those that have the software update for CD... can you tell or hear a difference with
the engine now ??
Is this going to make the oil pump wear out sooner ?? or blow out oil everywhere eventually ??
Wonder how much pressure they increase it by......... 1 lb, 10 lbs ??
I'm going to...
my build date is nov 2018 for 2019 cx5, bought in apr 2019 , head tech said it was
updated with newest pcm , and that all 2019's were updated ...........
hope he was telling truth ...........
just drove the cx5 and tried the re-circulation on/off , with fan at zero
re-circulation on it does stop the air flow coming out of vents ..............
thanks for info .........
went for a 10 mile test drive and coolant temp was still at 206-208 .. got home
parked the cx5 , opened the hood and fans were still not spinning .........
guess I'll go on a longer drive soon, plus summer is almost here , where it'll
be hot and humid ...........which should get the fans...
ok, thanks for all the good info........ just went for a 5 mile drive and it
was at 206-208 degree mark, parked it and checked to see if the fans were running ..
But both were not spinning .......... strange ? normal ??
I might have to go for a longer drive to test .........
temp out side...
