I heard that if you unplugged it and it didn't die then it's bad, so I replaced it. and it made no change. And it's expensive, so I wouldn't replace it. Not yet anyhow
I think, I don't know how thorough I've been lol.
I got 15w40 Valvoline premium blue diesel oil, I'd probably do 5w30 diesel oil if I did it again but I don't know if it really makes a huge difference. My engine still runs so... But the Vavoline was $35 for 2.5 gallons so that also helped the...
I'm just glad I don't have to replace a caliper, just not something I wanted to deal with.
I will check those out. The rattle was gone after I chopped off those two bracket/clamps on the exhaust and then it decided to come back. Rattles paranoia me into thinking the engine is dying (it is)
I would do a couple engine flushes or the diesel oil with diesel fuel that I'm currently doing before your smoking gets as bad as mine. I'm due for change 3 of 3. I wish I had done this last time I owned it and maybe it wouldn't be this bad now.
I don't remember which caliper I ordered but I'm returning it, actually thanks for reminding me I need to do that. I replaced the drivers side tie rods with greasable Moogs. The boots on the passenger side are all torn so they may get replaced eventually. The heat shield is currently removed...
Did you happen to disconnect the battery for any of that work? That can cause a really rough idle but it wouldn't cause the CEL... Did you gap your spark plugs? May be worth checking fuel pressure and looking for vacuum leaks.
The biggest reason bought the hard wire kit was for a cleaner install and to not take up my cigarette lighter. Since the lighter isn't powered while the engine is off in my Jeep, recording while parked was a bonus.
That doesn't have a rear camera which is unfortunate but the price is more...
Actually not yet lol. But the hard wire kit was like $10 and it eliminates two problems so I got it. The first one someone changed lanes into me and said "did you not see my blincker?"... he was found at fault but no insurance so I was screwed there. Then back in November I was pulling into my...
Well, last night it leaked on the garage floor while it was parked, then I drove it and parked it and it leaked on the driveway overnight. I drove it today about 15 miles and it doesn't seem to be actively leaking anymore, time will tell for sure but nothing dropped on the driveway while I was...
Out of curiosity what dash cam did you get? I've got this waiting to go into my Jeep. I've been hit twice, one uninsured and one hit and run. I've put too much time and money into my Jeep to not try and protect it. I may end up getting another for the Mazda.
Sorry I was trying not to hit a deer while filming that. I'll check tomorrow with my scanner to see if its actual rpms or just gauge.
Idle could be better but I wouldn't quite call it rough.
I'll get a video of that as well.
I plan to eventually clean IAC, TB, and EGR
Here’s what happens to my rpm coasting downhill with my foot off the gas pedal.
Side note, before I sold it both the tach and speedo were dark past a certain point, like 80 mph and 4000 rpm, then when I got it back the first time I had the headlights on at night I was amazed to see everything...
