I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy CP-e's HPFP. I have very litte by way of power mods (Cobb AP (OTS, stage 1 SF+ 93), Cobb SRI+TIP, TMIC) and I was thinking of getting a pro-tune next month to smooth things out. I talked with the facility about needing an upgraded pump with this low...
I was thinking the same thing...that he rolled forever. He even passed that truck before exiting lol. Sucks man. Initially it sounds as if you did things right with internals and pro-tune. what kind of power where you making? Also, it's a great change of pace to hear someone blow up and be fine...
dyno chart please.
I mean, I realize that any gains are likely negligible on a stock swap, but they should be noticable with a few supporting mods (intake/exhaust). At least give us something on a car with intake/TIP, as these are pretty common first mods...I think...idk, I just don't agree...
BoostedSpd6, that pic in your sig is...sic. awesome job.
Is there going to be a dyno chart we can peek at with this tmic? You state that this piece "will give you superior performance gains over the stock intercooler. "
I'm jealous of your new leather interior. The comfort level between the base/GT seats is substantial. And yeah, def part it out. a wrecked car is never the same...you could replace every part and there would still be gremlins...
If memory serves me right, I believe the recirc will only light up/work depending on what function you have selected (def/floor, just vents, just floor, etc). I could be wrong but I thought I had the same "problem" in my reg 3...try the recirc on each setting and see what happens. Your heat...
If you look hard enough you should be able to come close to your price cap, but def will be an 07-08. I looked for about 8 months and finally got mine last winter. 07 w/ 15k mi for 15.5k. I considered that a good enough deal to pull the trigger on. There's deals to be had, you just have to be...
two individual sets that do each thing especially well is WAY better than 1 set that can't do anything well. More expensive, yes. But running all season tires and trying to get more grip by way of susp mods is counterintuitive.
Yeah I'm absolutely happy with how everything went down (after, of course, the initial disappointment). I was sure to thank them and offered to send them some beer (I work at the corporate office of a "pretty big" brewery)...they didn't bite though. Now I'm excited all over again!
I sent it back yesterday. They may be able to get me a replacement earlier so I rolled the dice on that actually happening. We were emailing back and forth all day yesterday and everything should work out in the end. I'm just disappointed that it will work out in the end vs initially.
The real question is, would you put this piece on your car or return/exchange it? Replacement wouldn't be available until late march, early april, as they are OOS until then (which is also a PITA).
maybe they were trying some CYA because they already charged me and ran out of good ones. Regardless I love their statement that they thoroughly inspect each piece for top notch quality...oops...missed one.
"I KNOW I told him they weren't on backorder...(listens)...yes, yes I am aware we won't...
Just opened/inspected the TMIC from cp-e. really disappointed with the quality. There are some pretty terrible welds on this piece. I'll post pics up tonight and you guys can tell me if I'm simply expecting too much, but I don't think so. One area in particular they just melted the hell out of...
seeing the optional shroud is a definite. Is there a benefit to having the mounting brakets cast in a 1-piece manner? Other manufacturers seem to use the separate bracket approach.
