I watched the Project Farm video and it almost seemed like he smirked a little that there was so little difference between the plugs. I think he expected bigger differences. To me, the major difference is going to be how the various plugs wear over time. Right now we know that the OEM Iridium...
Ha! So since this post started I started to notice that my CX-5 was just a touch slower turning over than it has been. It got worse as the temps dropped. So I got out my tester today and tested my Duralast AGM, 4-year old (12/22/16) battery and yup, it's bad. Headed to Walmart to pick up an $89...
I'd keep it even simpler than some of the others here. As noted, check that all of the electrical connectors are snug at the coils, at the ECU and at the battery. I'd also disconnect the battery for a while and see if the code appears again after reconnecting the battery resets everything. This...
Interesting that both high note and low note horns are shown. I pretty sure GEN 1 only came with one as there were posts on here about how to add a second horn. GEN 2 had both?
I know everyone's experiences can be different and YMMV, but I feel that I must add my experience to this post in the interest of balance.
I did replace my original tensioner, which was leaking slightly, with the Gates tensioner at 81K miles.
There is no difference in the engine...
Nice writeup Dig. I do detect one flaw in your conclusion about the performance of your new plugs: you disconnected the battery! Perhaps I'm wrong and you used a tender to maintain power in the vehicle, but if you didn't then the vehicle has reverted to "learning mode" and hence a direct...
I ordered some stuff from Rock Auto not too long ago. After a bit they send you a 5% discount code. Anyone can use it but they do expire after a bit. Here's the code I got and it's good through 12/20/2020.
Code: 15497388656079894
One thing we've heard of on here: if you keep your fob in the house but still somewhat near the vehicle in the garage, it may be constantly communicating with the vehicle because it's in range and wear down the battery. Just a thought.
I got my 2014 CX-5 in August, 2013. It has 82k miles and I've replaced the wiper inserts once about 2-3 years ago. No streaking. Ever. I live in Minnesota - we have snow.
