I installed the Mazda bumper guard on my CX-5. looks great and helps protect against scratches when taking stuff out the back. Do a search as I posted a pic of mine on a thread somewhere.
hmm i should call and find out where in Queens' they're located. I have a pearl white so I would prefer a power coated black finish to match my trim.
kimchei: let me know if you decide to get these! I am worried too about hit/scratches from stupid NYC ppl who can't park
I wish more people were sensitive to other drivers with their outlandish HID kit's that blind everyone on the road. Esp true for NYC drivers who have not only high glare HID's but HID foglights as well that put light everywhere but the road.
This is the perfect kit to start the bike season with! Complete system that carries 3 bikes and 3 spare wheel forks.
Kit includes:
Yakima Q-Towers with 48" Crossbars
Yakima 44" Fairing/Wind deflector.
Yakima SKS core locks to secure your rack to your roof
Yakima Q-103 fit clips
Yakima 2x...
Saris makes nice racks but I'm sticking with either Yakima or Thule. Yes most of their 4 bike racks have sleeve adaptors but I feel with a solid class III hitch it makes for a more stable/secure platform.
For the trailer/hitch experts out there. I have a simple question.
I plan to purchase the Draw tite Class III hitch soley for the purpose of being able to mount a hitch mounted bike rack with a capacity of 4 bikes. (most 4 bike carriers only come in a class 3 mount)
Will I have any issues...
I have about 4300 miles , mostly all from my commute which is 85% hwy/ 15% city. I do 100% city on the weekends so I've been avg. at around 28 ish mpg. I also use the cruise control a lot and don't drive past 65mph on the highways.
I live in NYC and I am getting 28-30 MPG with 30 City% and 70% highway. are you running full blast on A/C and stomping the pedal?
And how are you arriving at your MPG? is that what the trip computer is saying? or are you calculating based upon distance driven divided by fuel pumped in at the...
Kinda off topic - But I'm wondering if I change my own for motor/tranny oil during the first 60K miles of ownership, and if i later have a powertrain related issue, will my powertrain warranty be voided because I did my own maintenance?
Got the same price when I picked up my car, I wanted it as a port installed option but was too late. Dealer offered it basically at cost so it was about the same price $150.
Its nice to have but sometimes it gets in the way when your hauling larger items around and need the full space.
any car with leather seats will be hot - there is no getting around it. If you park outside, try and put a carshade in the windshield and perhaps tint your side windows. else, get cloth.
My Jetta had one , darn useful to have in foul/foggy weather. The lower the mounting position the better. i too would love to add a rear fog light if anyone can come up w/a aftermarket kit.
Interesting, I wonder what other automotive companies they (Warrantech) underwrite for. I recall Toyota had a really good/comprehensive extended warranty plan (not sure if Toyota was the underwriter).
