I've got about 900 miles on the AWD Signature, 80% city / 20% hwy.
According to the computer, I average 20-21mpg. That's using non-ethanol fuel.
When posting fuel numbers, it would be nice to know if we're talikng FWD or AWD and what type of fuel.
If you're not paying attention, it's a cool feature to keep you in the alignment shop, LoL.
I posted this in a different thread:
A friend of mine knows a guy that has something like it. He shut his off after getting creamed by potholes. 🕳 🚗
I'm with Horton and jthj.
The current Mazda CX-9 is a GREAT vehicle. It's not for everybody but it shouldn't submissively bow to Toyota, Honda or any of the rest.
Horton, dad gave the car to me after he bought a new, light blue VW pickup!
It was white with a 302 engine and seemed enormous... It had a single dash speaker, AM radio and footwell light.
You could lay down on the bench seats with the girlfriend too.
I have just under 1k miles on mine and haven't done much interstate driving.
When I do take the interstate, at times, I have noticed slight vibration above 65 mph at the onset. It's very slight and seems to fade away in time.
When I feel the vibration, I make a mental note of the speed...
Cooled down to cool -
while stopped at a light??
That doesn't seem normal!
I have a 2018. I was driving in single digits the other night thinking, "This is the best heater ever" and then I thought about my first car, a '68 Ford Galaxie 500. That car could burn your feet.
My CX-9 is toasty...
Well written and thanks for the tips. I've done the handi space deal.
I like to park close to a remote "tree island" at the shopping center. That way, at least one side is safe and the other is far from the painted line.
I risk sap and bird poo but hey, that's easily cleaned off if I get to it...
'Murica has 2 kinda people... them who buy into consumer riports 🇺🇸
and them who ain't 🇨🇳
sUmbody keeps payin' fur that stoopid magazine...
we got better things to do, lets git sum terrrists!

I'm onboard with you all the way JPL.
CR Data + CR Methodology = Fuzzy Math.
Sarcastically speaking, I personally enjoy CR's "predicted satisfaction" rating. Do they use a Magic 8 ball or call in the Amazing Kreskin?
I agree on the goal being ease of use and value.
But like I've said before, I've picked CR's higher rated items with mixed results, mostly poor.
I now ask myself these questions:
How knowledgeable are those providing data to CR? We're talking about the general public. If that's who you trust...
I'm only talking about CR ratings here.
I bought a CX-9 more because I test drove it several times thouroghly. I also read owner reviews.
Then I asked questions and listened to independent mechanics and Mazda service about reliability and maintainance costs. My personal experience with CU...
CR rates the CX-9 #13 out of 17 similar mid sized SUV's. Predicted reliability is poor while customer satifaction is rated good at 4 out of 5.
I can't pay attention to most of it.
CR rates the new Toyota Rav4 3rd in all SUV models. I just left one of those for a 2018 Sig CX-9 because I grew...
Thanks for the pics and your help on this. In the CX-9 mirror, the center black wire is ground and the striped one right next to it is hot but only comes on when the car starts to complete the circuit.
