You have the newer version of the infotainment system. You cannot use the older 7X.x firmware versions.

That’s the latest version, but any of the 70.XX and higher firmwares will work. To that, you may as well go with the most recent version.

I’ve had zero issues with my R7 in my cx-5. Never made any menu changes either. I am on FW 1.37.

I’m still using my R7 and works great. No regrets at all.

Could also do what I did to my safe at home. Wired in some 12v led strip/tape lights and a magnetic switch. Open the safe light turns on, close the door… You get it. Should be least enough to tap into a nearby 12v power and ground, or run to inside fuse panel.
