In the 2016 CX5 once the vehicle is started, if the driver walks away with the FOB, can the vehicle be driven without the FOB in the car?
I did that to my 2014 Mazda3. I went back inside the home and left the key FOB on the counter after I started the car. I was able to drive away WITHOUT the...
Wouldn't spacers put stress on the wheel bearing and suspension components since you are changing the geometry?
Also, wouldn't a tire that sticks out further cause more rock chips since it will be flinging rocks onto the body panels?
The only changes that I can see for 2017 is the addition of PADDLE SHIFTERS, HEADS-UP DISPLAY, LED GRILLE since that is what the 3's and 6's have now. Mazda can easily incorporate those into the CX5.
The only one that I liked was the HEADS-UP display. It was a nice feature when I drove the 6...
The GT TECH PACKAGE is a must IMHO. For the $1,500 the LED headlights and tailights, the SMART CITY BRAKE and auto dimming mirrors and Homelink are great options.
What is appealing about the IActiveSense is the SMART BRAKE SUPPORT and its ability to reduce a rear end collision on the highway (above 20mph) since it offers the ability for the radar and computer to stop the vehicle if it computes the CX5 is approaching an object too quickly and an accident...
That info from that dealership is WAY OFF. They are talking about the 2016 Mazda CX-5. This statement:
"Industry experts believe the 2017 Mazda CX-5 should be powered by Mazda’s very capable 2.0L inline 4-cylinder engine, which can produce 155 hp and 150 lb-ft of torque. Other possibilities...
I do like the OEM Mazda splash guards. I just wish they didn't cost $100 :) I will install them myself since the dealership with charge me for it as they were not factory installed. The factory will install the roof rack and rear bumper guard but it's easy enough to install the guards I can do...
Has anyone installed "mirror tint" on their side windows? Typically the dark window tint is standard but I wonder how the mirror would look on a Soul Red or any color for that matter.
So no real issues with MPG loss or snow buildup with the OEM Mazda splash guards? The OEM rears do stick out further than the tires
They are a total rip for a piece of plastic ($50 rear - $50 fronts). It probably cost Mazda $2 to make it.
Today's car paints chip a lot easier than they did years ago. It is much thinner paint and clear.
The issue with thin sheetmetal is that it dents easy and if you ever get caught in a light hailstorm it might total out the car. Older cars could handle light to mild hail storms with no problem...
So has anyone noticed a reduction in MPG with the mud flaps?
My other question is with snow. Do mud flaps trap more snow or cause problems if you get into deep snow? I would be worried they might rip off in deep snow?
I could see them adding the LED front grille like the 2016 Mazda6's have.
I can also see them possibly adding the HEADS-UP display like the 3's and 6's.
I can concur that bird poop is VERY acidic and will eat paint. The clear coat on these cars is THIN as is the paint and metal. Doesn't take much to damage it.
The cars of yesteryear had THICKER clear coats, paints and sheetmetal. The EPA has killed the paints on cars and the MPG weight savings...
Mazda dealers use BULK OIL that comes out of drums. They spec out Castrol 0W-20 synthetic for the CX5.
They do NOT use the Mazda moly oil because that only comes in 1quart bottles. One has to buy it specifically and change it themselves. The moly oil is factory filled in Japan since that is...
