Here's what my manual says:
The following “Personalization Features” are available. These settings can only be changed by an Authorized
Mazda Dealer.
Daytime running
lights
The function of the daytime running lights can
be changed
Factory Setting: On
Available Settings: Off
If car is in P when doing this, the DRLs won't come on, parking brake or not. To test whether the procedure has worked, release parking brake, start car, and shift out of P.
I tried this many times and it never turned the DRLs off -- it did shut my fogs off, though (they started working again a...
Look at p. 5-35 of the owner manual. The row of buttons to the right of the radio touch screen are setup, seek->, and seek<-. The power button to the radio (not the start button of the car) is to the left of the radio touch screen; it's a round knob that can be twisted and pushed. You can start...
Absolutely; however, I was chiming in in response to this: "Monro wanted a grand for a new set, because they are an uncommon size," to point out that there are options for replacement in less uncommon sizes.
Check the tire fitment thread for more details, but there are other sizes that are a straight fit for the stock GT tires (235/50R19, 235/55R19, 245/50R19, and 255/50R19).

I hope this isn't too OT, but what about VW engine mods? Weren't (aren't?) there some models that share the same mechanical engine components but the chips were different to reduce hp in the "lower" model? E.g., can't you chip a Golf and boost its engine performance to GTI levels?
I don't think it's a designed feature. It's just been my experience that 3-6 weeks after I update files the traffic will begin to act up. And seeing as how TomTom wants us to connect every 7 days to update the QuickGPSfix file, I draw a (non-logical) line between the two -- really, I'm just...
The QuickGPSfix file is intended to be updated every 7 days (http://us.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4971/~/what-is-quickgpsfix-and-how-do-i-update-it%3F). I don't bother to do it that often, but I find that after the traffic bar disappears once it will start to do so more...
This happens to me too. I find it's an indication that the card needs the QuickGPSfix file updated. Next time you notice this, instead of restoring the card, at the first opportunity, turn off the car, remove the card, reinsert the card, restart the car. This should bring back the traffic bar...
Got the new BT module installed this morning. Ipod starts on last song playing (but shuffle must be selected each time I restart). One bummer is that although my phone pairs, it won't download my contacts (which it did before). Oh well, I use the radio way more than the phone, so I'm not too...
I tried downloading last night. Usually takes 2 to 4 hours. Was still downloading this morning, and then it gave some error message and couldn't finish. I'll try again tonight.
I bought my car at Brown's and just dropped by yesterday to schedule an oil change for next month (full syn for $60 with coupon, which is available online at fairfaxmazda.com); I brought a copy of the TSB with me and asked that they order the part and replace it when the oil change is done. The...
True. In fact, the OM states:
It is recommended that the auto-wiper lever be switched to the OFF position other than when driving the vehicle under rainy conditions.
Just as my free trial was expiring I was offered a one-year sub with a one quarter sweetener for half off ($39.98 for 15 months). Just after that expired I was offered a 40 percent discount ($47.97), but no sweetener (only 12 months). If you haven't been offered a discount, I would call them and...
This happens to me on and off. The quick fix is to turn off the car, remove and replace the memory card in the dash, and restart the car. The longer-term fix is to remove the card and connect to TomTom Home so it can get updates.
