Sorry, what a PITA. I've learned the hard way when taking delivery of a car to inspect the crap out of it. If it's bad just say no and don't accept the car, though I've never had to do that.
When we got my wife's CX-30 we found marks on the door handles and some other small exterior stuff. We...
I have a 2' hitch on mine for my bike rack and it's the first one I've ever had. I've wondered whether having it there in a rear ender is better or worse. It seems like at low speeds it might be a plus, but whether at higher speeds is there a chance of bending something under the car at the...
As it happens I have a 2020 CX-5 and the wife has a 2021 CX-30. Both are NA AWD. I've never taken either one on a really rugged trail or anything but the streets here in Chicago ain't for sissies either. Her CX-30 maybe doesn't feel quite as isolated from the bumps as my car but it certainly...
Ordered one up and just installed it. Good recommendation, it fits well and looks great.
A possibly helpful hint if you you need to install one without help.
Step 1 - I cut a slit the in the paper adhesive cover lengthwise and one in the middle, dividing it into quadrants.
Step 2 - I aligned...
That's never happened to me on my 2020 with the new style fob. I'll bet it's due to the buttons being on the side and the fact that it's awfully big and could easily get squished in your pocket.
I do have different color silicon covers on all our fobs, with 4 in the house it would get really...
I will say that the wife's 2021 CX-30's Premium infotainment system is far superior to the one in my 2020 GT. Faster and more sophisticated in all regards. However it no longer seems to have the Speed / Red Light camera warnings which is a bummer.
I'm assuming the new 2021 CX-5's are the same...
But again it's a matter of perspective and what you want to spend your money on. I like having a newer car and am willing to throw money at it. My '20 CX-5 is a much nicer set of wheel than my '15 was, and I like all the newer stuff so I spend money on that luxury. I don't want to drive a 10...
I think it's a matter of perspective and how many miles you put on your car.
If you buy a $31000 car and it's worth $8000 after 9 years (three 3 year leases) it's cost you $23000. Say your leased cars at $5000 / year ( that's been my cost over the course of leasing my three CX-5's including the...
That's sort of an interesting question. I say that because they installed a new speed cam near my house a year ago. I went to the mapcreator website to add it and they no longer seem to allow folks to report new cameras in an easy way, it's a whole email rigmarole thing, so I just forgot about...
Slightly off topic, but perhaps relevant. I have a 2020 GT PP. We just leased a 2021 CX-30 Premium for the wife. Her infotainment / nav system is much better in all respects then mine, faster and with more functions, though the traffic cam warning system seems to have sadly disappeared.
In the...
There have been suits brought here but to no avail. When our latest Mayor ran she said she would end their use, but once she was elected and realized how much money they brought in she quietly forgot that promise, and then lowered the limits to boot.
It's part of the whole Illinois / Chicago...
We bought the wife a new 2021 CX-30, and I just took it for my first longer drive. My 2020 CX-5 has the warnings for the traffic cams, but the 30 doesn't seem to have it. I did a little digging and it seems some countries have it and some not, and the ones that do had to have a firmware upgrade...
It's the fact that it always turns on when you shut off the car. It's supposed to turn off automatically but that doesn't always seem to work, and the beeping noise until it's turned off is truly annoying., There's a section in the manual about it with a list of things (seat belt on etc.) that...
I've leased three CX-5's GT's since they first came out, a '15, '17 and '20. The '17 was an overall nicer car than the '15. Not much diff in the driving experience but much quieter and with better interior and improved infotainment. The '20 isn't as much of a leap forward as the '17 was but does...
I'm fine with the stock tires. They handled some pretty nasty snow this year on Chicago's streets with no problem and are fine for regular day to day driving. I always rotate them every 5K or so.
One of the reasons I lease is to never bother with replacing tires, I leave that for the next guy.
We just leased the wife a 2021 CX-30 Premium in the Polymetal Gray Metallic. The final contenders were the CX-30, Honda HR-V Premium and Hyundai Kona. They were all comparably priced.
She was coming from her third Acura ILX., but after fighting the Chicago snow for years we decided it was time...
My wife just took her CX-30 in for service and got a CX-3 as a loaner. I grabbed it for half an hour just because I'd never tried one before. It's actually a fun little car to drive, it reminded me of my days in the mid eighties owning a 87 Honda Si and then a 89 Mitsubishi Mirage Turbo, the hot...
We just bought the wife a CX-30. I have a CX-5 myself. When I took the 30 for a drive I almost immediately pulled over and took off the middle headrest on the back seat. It really helps and we'll never have 5 peeps in the car anyway.
But the rear visibility definitely is limited compared to my...
It depends on which dashboard it is. The Type B cycles through the regular and trip odometers with the little button at about 11 o'clock from the display. The Type A always has it to the right of the outside temp gauge. I don't know which dash the GS has but suspect it's a Type A.
