Well that was short lived! Already sold my Element after a whole 2 months of ownership. Made a few hundred on it, plus it needed more work. Guy who bought it realllly wanted exactly that one, so he didnt have as much wiggle room with trying to bring the price down :)
Now time to find my Astro!
If the owner, Ryan, is near the car at all. Tell him Kyle says he sucks please :). He is going all out and bought a bunch of vintage neon 80s clothing for the occasion.
Meanwhile ill be far far away in Hawaii for a week. I didn't get to do any fun car stuff this summer due to the injury!
booo, yet another event Ill miss! Also cant make it to radwood :(. My friend just went to the one in MI and he got to see so much greatness. Very bummed over here
well I did it. Found it in Fall River, MA of all places. Completely rust free except for 2 little spots where windshield meets the roof. All underside is very clean. Only issue is a vibration at a few speeds which I believe to be a CV shaft since I swapped over protege wheels/tires and vibration...
Test drove an element up in VT over the weekend. The price was looking very good but boy the rust on the bottom killed it! Oh well, just gotta keep searching.
New alternator going in p5 tonight though. It will live on!
Im not looking forward to removing the master though, looks like slightly difficult to get to. Also found it a little weird that the clutch master uses same reservoir as the brake master, but maybe thats more common than not. Either way what I care about most is getting the alternator back in...
plus master and slave is only $40. I can get behind that :).
I'm also shopping for its replacement now. Only one car on the list, Honda Element. Whenever I find one though I will still continue to drive the protege. That thing aint going nowhere obviously
I LIED!
not giving up on p5 yet. Got the old alternator out, somehow, so a new one is going in. Then to evaluate clutch hydraulics to see if they really are bad, or just need to be bled. Clutch doesnt slip, just hard to get car in gear sometimes unless ya pump the clutch pedal a bunch
I was all ready to give up entirely on my p5 when the alternator and clutch hydraulics started to go just recently, but I just could bring myself to do it! its at 247k and I gotta see it to at least 250k. New alternator to go in early next week when it arrives, then slave/master cylinders. Can't...
BEAUTIFUL! I'll get back to LRP some day, I swears it :P.
Anywho, I am out of my orthopedic boot now but still using one crutch. I was able to drive miata yesterday and actually do quick shifting in a shoe. Smiles abound!!
This was my alternative weekend though. Up hammock camping in the...
Im not a football fan by any means but it was such fun while living in Seattle to cheer on the Patriots or just yell Go PATS at a bar. Got sooooo many dirty looks :D
the south shall rise again!!!
Also in typical "me" fashion, I will not be attending LRP this weekend. Since my foot is still in the boot and I am down to 1 crutch rather than 2, it would be best for me to not be at LRP and having to walk all around to various vantage points at the track...
Seeing as how I am always full of crap, I'm totally going to try and fix the p5 once more before I give up on it. Could be as simple as the corrosion on the battery terminal to which I cannot get the negative off. Out comes the dremel to cut the bolt!
Actually looking at ms3's for the...
