I'll play...these are minor first world problems, overall we are very impressed with ours so far.
1) Sport mode holds the gear too long
2) DRL's use the actual headlights
3) Outside rear view mirror adjustment settings aren't tied to the individual key fob
4) Doesn't have 354HP like my old Audi...
The active driving display settings are tied to the key fob. If you switch keyfobs, it will revert to whatever was saved to that particular fob. If I accidentally grab my wife's keys, her settings are drastically different than mine since I am about 1 foot taller.
I agree with that statement, but we took a chance getting the grille painted when we needed a new bumper cover installed and painted due to freeway shrapnel damage. Very happy with the results.
For comparison purposes, we bought the Force L for our old Audi (see pic). The hatch would not open all the way on the Audi, even with the box installed all the way forward. On the CX-5, you can see from my picture above that the box overhangs the windshield much more than the Audi did.
I have a Thule Force L and it fits perfectly on the OEM rails and crossbars. Plenty of room for the hatch to open. Here is the only pic I have of it installed. The XL is only 1 cubic foot larger than the L so I would assume it would fit. The Thule fit guide has always been accurate for me.
I believe tinted front door windows must be a max of 70% (which is basically clear) in California. Many people have tinted side windows here though (myself included).
Our 2017 CX-5 feels very solid, including the closing of the doors. We have had a 2013 X5 Diesel and a 2016 Audi SQ5 for comparison and the CX-5 is about 90% solid feeling as those two, with the advantage of not being a potential out of warranty nightmare :)
Grizzancs - I've been doing my own paint corrections for years and your picture and video would have me concerned. It almost looks like contamination or early clear coat failure - could be a portion of the car was repainted prior to delivery to you, or just a factory defect. Tough to tell...
We have had our machine gray since December. Drove 2200 miles with only one small chip on the fender. Installed a clear bra about a month ago before we took any road trips. We are at 5K miles now (2800 miles in 3 weeks) and no chips at all beyond where the bra covers.
We take an annual trip in June to Arizona for my son's baseball tournament with his travel team. Last year, we took my 2017 GTI which has a digital temp readout...it always displays 194 degrees, regardless of the external temperature and driving conditions. We were coming back to California...
We are in Arizona for my kid's baseball tournament... It is super hot here (see pic). AC is working great, after about 10 minutes on max, we need to lower the fan speed as it is too cold in the car.
Well, I had my wife and my 19 and 15 year old kids in the car, a large cooler, 3 suitcases (all in the car) plus an EZ up, 3 folding camping chairs, a foldable wagon and two baseball bags in the roof box, AC on (it's 115 in AZ today) and I got 23.9 mpg, all freeway going 75 ish. Not bad at all.
The VW infotainment system is light years ahead of the Mazda system (comparing my 2017 GTI vs my 2017 CX5 GT). I kind of took it for granted how good the VW setup is until we got the Mazda.
We get this beauty here in the states (front and back pics below). It clips onto the lower grill and 2 holes get drilled through the bumper cover to secure the top of it. I would find a way to secure it to the lower grill opening and will do so if I ever get a fix it ticket.
