We have a 2018 CX5 NA and it does not have that whine. If you stand in front with the hood open and someone revs the engine, can you tell where the sound is coming from? Maybe the alternator?
Make sure the vibration when driving is not from over inflated tires. Dealers often sell new cars with...
Just received our letter today. Appt set up for late August. Don't want to be the first to get the recall done. Figure let them practice over the next 30 days before they do our CX5!
Thats crazy and must be so disappointing! I would be going nuts if that happened with my new car. I'm real sensitive to every rattle and vibration when I drive.
Hope it gets worked out but unfortunately if they gave you new tires and it still does it, sounds like something more serious. Unless...
So, when I looked at the Toyo tires that I just replaced at 32K there was slightly more wear on the inside than the outside, suggesting too much negative camber. (If I look closely at the rear wheels, I can see the bottom is angled very slightly out). I read that the rear camber is fixed and...
Update: Wanted to add an update here too in case anyone is in this same situation and comes across this thread.
I checked with someone who is a professional mechanic and not looking to sell anything. He suggested that the shocks should be replaced since weeping is a sign of failure, no matter...
Update: Had the rear shocks replaced so as not to cause odd wear on the new tires. Shop said the rears were shot with no lift left and leaking. (poor mazda OEM product). Rear is slightly higher than before now. Ride sees smoother but that could be just the tires.
I was amazed how much prices...
Had an independent opinion on the picture above and was advised to change the rear shocks since weeping means the shocks are failing and can affect tire wear. Since I just put new tires on, will shop around to find the best price on new shocks. More to come....
Yes, that's it! Most of the Spider is Mazda parts and built in Japan at the same factory as the Miata. So, I figured since the Spider owners are getting their second letters now that many Mazda has the new pump too and has notified some of the Mazada owners.
That does seem to look like the seepage picture on the TSB. I sent the photo over to a friend who is a Service Advisor at a non-Mazda dealership and asked him if he could get some opinions from the mechanics.
So I remember getting the recall notice late last year, with the promise that a second letter would be received when Mazda has the parts. Over at the Spider forum (made by Mazda at the Miata factory) people have been getting the second letter stating the parts are in. How about for the CX5...
Well, we replaced our very noisy Toyos at 32K miles today. Who, what a difference! Tire noise is gone completely! Nice smooth quiet ride now....like when our CX5 was new!
Update....Had new tires put on today and took a picture of the driver's side rear shock while our CX5 was on the lift. With the tires in the air the oil is more noticeable, but seems to be less than a 1/3 down. Can only see the very lower edge of the oil when the car is on the ground. So, from...
