My only problem with the IS-F is that it was never offered as a manual. I can't imagine having that car and not being able to "really shift". But if I had 55K that I had to spend on a car then the CTS-V coupe would be on my top 5 maybe higher.
I decided to remove my oil squirters as well, main reason I chose it is because the already bad oil system we have. When reading about it, it made sense that with the squirters in you'll be losing oil pressure which is one of our main concerns and the amount of oil coming of the crank would...
I have to assume that if you're asking these questions that there hasn't been a major amount of modifications done to your MSP (not saying that in negative way so please don't take it as such). And if that statment is true then you'll be gambling with your engine's life expectancy (and the odds...
Pope is currently producing down pipes and some exhaust manifolds for a "group buy". He never got around to producing the Intake manifolds and probably won't be doing so since the market has died down for the Protege's. Best bet is to wait for a 505Zoom IM come up in the FS section or hope for...
Yes, you're correct. I must've been tired or not thinking right when I wrote that, thanks Hornsfan. But the remainder of it is still valid and I would agree that he can still use the bottom end and use his current head. Only problem would be that the crank on the later models (00-02) were...
First make sure you have the year correct on that engine because IIRC in 1998 the FS-DE changed to fuel injection. There were other things that were changed as well but that was one of the main things. If you are using a 2000-2002 626 engine then you can definitely use it because the motors are...
^ What dash? And I hope that seat bracket isn't welded with hopes and dreams, if you have any doubts I would take it somewhere and get it professionally done. J/S
Regardless of performance gains it's just easier overall. It weighs less than the stock one and there are less complications with gaskets since there isn't an upper and lower, and it helps that it looks better.
I'm sorry to tell you but I don't think this will be your best option if you really plan on doing it. Because the runners of the IM don't match the ports on the head you'll need to attempt some form of gasket match/port match which would cause you to machine the head. The location of those ports...
No, I'm in the middle of a rebuild so the engine is out and I'm working on the entire car. I was just saying that it seems to be the easiest route to access the rear mount and fix the bolt.
I'd suggest taking out the IM and rethreading it that way. I snapped one of the bolts off my rear mount and still haven't fixed it but doesn't look like it's an easy undertaking, so I would definitely try and get that one straightened out.
I have all mishimoto cans and love the look of them. They have a pretty nice baffled unit if you can justify the $325 price tag (which I can't) but also have nice regular ones too. Once again you can order from CR3 Motorsports, he's got great pricing on Mishimoto parts IIRC.
