My 2010 Touring FWD was surging while stopped, and occasionally the engine would die. It was most pronounced when I was in park with the A/C on full blast. The dealer initially said they couldn't reproduce the issue until they did that - then they could observe the wild swings in RPMs. They...
Now after the dealer talked to the Mazda Techs, they suspect the throttle body and not the ABS/DSC module I had replaced causing the car to stall when at idle.
So, just talked to the dealer to see whats up.
They have been able to reproduce the car shutting off w/the check engine light & battery light coming on. But they claim the only code coming up is for the same ABS/DSC module they replaced a couple weeks ago. So they're going to call Mazda on...
Sometimes thats not possible depending where you live. I have a Honda Accord too, the closest Honda dealer is even further but I've only had to go back twice in 5 years. Funny thing, they only seem to build dealerships in populated areas :) There are just a few used car lots in the area.
That terrifies me. Who knows what problems will crop up down the line... I tried calling back for more info, they're saying "ABS" module - which sounds to me like the "ABS/DSC module" from the TSB they replaced two visits ago!
OK, so since I brought the car in for TSB 04-002/11 I've been having a problem where it was idling rough sometimes. I didn't think they were related, I thought I was just feeling the A/C kick on since its finally hot out. Occasionally, I felt like the car would almost move a little bit while...
EDIT: I've determined this is the radio antenna, not the defroster.
I opened up the rear hatch of my CX-9 to find the antenna cable unplugged. I suspect it came lose while being detailed at a local body shop, but I can't prove this. Anyways, I can't get it back on. It would seem it slides...
The Mazda 6/Edge/CX-9 all share the Ford CD3 platform.
The CX-7 uses its own unique platform.

"In interference engine designs, regular belt or chain service is especially important as incorrect timing may result in the pistons and valves colliding and causing extensive engine damage and therefore costly repairs. The piston will likely...
The symptoms exhibited by my car was that you'd turn on the vehicle and the TCS/DSC lights would come on and both stay on. Then a few days later, they'd go off. Then a couple weeks later, they'd come on for a few more days. They didn't come on as a result of any maneuvering.
It wasn't just the TCS light for me; it was the DSC too - it looks like two squiggly lines up in the top center of the dash. It was the presence of the DSC indicator that was concerning - it only comes on when there is a problem with the stability control (TCS is traction control).
I returned the Genuine Mazda CY01-13-Z40A air filter and bought this FRAM CA10242 filter on amazon:

It fit much better - I didn't have any problems putting the air filter cover back on.
