Thanks everyone for the responses. I did buy FL-22 from Mazda and like I said it was not that low. I see no leaks anywhere and I am not sure what level the reservoir was at before. I purchased the car new in 2016 and never checked the levels on the coolant before. So I will keep an eye on it...
PCM reprogram see here https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2017/MC-10111008-9999.pdf but it states 2016 affected only. Not sure if there is one for 2019.
Quick update. I went looking for the ac drain line on the 16 CX-9 and while I was looking, I saw that the coolant reservoir was under the Low mark. No leaks noticed anywhere near the water pump or broken hoses. Bought some FL-22 fluid at Mazda and maybe added about a 1 cup or 1 1/2 cup to the...
Does this happen when the vehicle is cold, so after first start up? I had a similar issue on my 2016 CX-9 and there was an update that addressed it. I took it to Mazda and they did the update for me.
Hello Everyone,
I've been reading and saw the issue with the ac drain line clogging, but the sound I hear is when I first start our 2016 CX-9. It sounds like water going through pipes. This happen before I turn the AC on and before driving. The noise comes from behind the dashboard, around the...
EmmanuelN, as YCT stated there is a lot more use of the rear brakes from what I have been told on the CX-9. I was concerned of possible dragging but that was checked out and everything was fine.
My 2016 currently has 72,000 Miles. Nothing major so far, just the usual wear and tear parts. Done synthetic oil changes every 5000 miles, top tier gas only, replaced tires once, rear brake pads twice, front pads once. Spark plugs replaced at 40,000. Only had one software update done to resolve...
I have a 2016 Mazda CX-9 and was looking at the design of the stock air intake. I see the scoop when you open the hood but when you look at the design of the hood when it's closed I don't see how outside air is flowing into the intake. Reason I asked is I just replaced my air filter after...

I just installed the latest firmware update and assume the Apple Carplay or Android Auto options will not show until I install the new USB hub and cable set? which will be delivered to me on Wednesday.
Hello all,
I just filled up my 2016 CX-9 fuel tank and usually it shows around 397 miles to empty. Instead it is showing 290. The gauge shows full but it's just the miles to empty. I have turned the car off and then on but still the same issue. Anyone had this problem and what was the...
I am getting ready to do this but can find the gap measurement. I bought the plugs from mazda as no one else had them for the 2016 CX-9. Anyone know the gap measurement?
My 2016 CX-9 has a high pitch sound coming from its speakers almost like when there is a bad ground. Has anyone else had this issue? Its barely noticeable when the radio is on but when muted or no music you can hear it while speeding up.
I havent had an alignment since getting the vehicle and it was a bit off. Typically I have seen tire installers require it to cover any issues with uneven tire wear.
I was able to find this site which shows how to replace them on the Mazda 6 which uses the inline 4 turbo. Seems pretty easy.

This wasn't the adviser up-selling anything. I actually saw it the maintenance manual for the 2016 CX-9 last year. I was the one who brought it up to them as they were not aware. I was one of the few CX-9 to hit 40,000 miles already.
