Well after tearing the short 90 degree coupling which connects the throttle body to intercooler piping again, I decided to buy the biggest god damn 90 degree vibrant coupling money can buy and trimmed it to size. Im embarrassed to say what i paid for it. Lets just say too much. Waaaay too much...
I think you mean 15+ psi as Ive never heard of anyone making 300whp (~350 flywheel) on just 10psi of boost on a 1.8bp. Unless they had a godzilla turbo or some amazing tuning on race fuel /e85 or something.
You would need like 20whp per psi to make 300whp as BPs only have about 100whp to begin...
jeeeeezus this thing better pull hard 7k could buy you a couple msp nowadays.
good luck with the build hopefully it goes smooth compared to your last build. If all goes well and it becomes a truly fast car it will all be worth it in the end.
this thread reminds me of guys who put ferrari body kits on their $1000 fieros...
why dont you save 1500, sell you msp and buy a subaru rather than be some poser with a slow car that will just be getting mocked by both subie and mazda owners?
then again, i guess im just as bad as i have a...

not really as I have mine on a completely different engine, I use a distributor instead of COP and a have 1991 Ford Escort wiring harness hooked up to it.
But I am pretty sure there are a couple fsde guys running them that you could probably get all the info you need from on this forum.

im at 260,000 KMs now and it will be a race against rust to 1 million kms. Im pretty clean after the first 10 years, but the next 10 the rust might come out to play.
did you not read anything i said?
there is no "problem" with the msp it makes 170hp all day. as designed as intended. as priced. if they built the motor the car would have been much more expensive. you get whay you pay for.
do you have any idea what a rx-7 tt or 323 gtr costed new?

we commend you for trying something different, but OP's exhaust sucks, and we are all here to give him advice on how he can do a good job with it and we are all eagerly awaiting the results.
you guys gotta understand, this car was never designed or priced to compete with evos/stis. Having bought the car new and pwning all my friends who also were getting into bolt on import/sport compact cars at the time, with the exception of srt4s, the rest (wrx/rsx/svt focus/civic si) were all no...

Just building a few psi as an example of how the launch control feature of my megasquirt helps build boost at the line.
