After almost 20k miles and a very abusive driving (i believe that 10k or more are WOT :P) the connecting rod of the third cylinder broke and did a big mess.
Now we know the limitations of the stock connecting rods.
For a super safe setup, 21-22kgm(151-159 ft) is the top like knight sports...
I was thinking about this the time that i turbocharged mine because there are forged con rods for the 1.6 mzr on the market.
The connecting rods have 5.45mm difference but i cant find any info about the pistons.
Have you measured the CR that you are running with this setup?
Welcome to the club :)
Watch out your internals with the torque and hp that you getting with the turbo.
250hp and how much torque? anything over 25kgm is risky.
Almost 20k miles now and over 8 months I'm running @ 180-185 bhp with very-very-very aggressive driving :p :p.
So far so good. I don't know if it will last longer.
Hmmm,
That's new to me. 3 friends of mine with F gearboxes were always broke the gears(2 to 5th). None of them had a problem with the diff.
As you said, indeed from what I've heard the G was a bit stronger but also broke gears at around 280-300whp.
