Yeah thanks...no injuries other than a couple small cuts from stupidly brushing away broken glass with bare hands. Might not have faired as well if she was driving at the time...shes a great driver but easily startled. At the time of explosion was doing about 70mph with two cars in front of me...
was on my way back to NorCal from Las Vegas earlier today with the wife in our 19 cx5 touring. About an hour outside of town, with no warning or any sort of impact, the damn sunroof just exploded! Needless to say the loud noise followed by a glass shower scared the crap out of us. Upon closer...
So let me be sure this is correct...both 1st gen and 2nd gen jdm headrests will for our 19 touring, but the 1st gen are lower profile. Right?
Great thread...had no idea these existed. Nothing wrong with better visibility...
Rx8 18s on our 19 cx5
Hopefully the pic works...
Factory rx8 18 wheels (18x8 et50) powder-coated black with 235/60/18 continental truecontact tours. Wheels only weigh 21.5 lbs, so with 26 lb contis was able to keep weight similar to stock 17s, if not a pound or two lighter. Will take more...
Agree...lateral movement is caused by roll stiffness, so stiffer/bigger sway bars will only exacerbate the problem. Can disconnect sway bar as mentioned above and itll help, at the expense of increased body roll. Id be wary of disconnecting only the front and not the rear, unless you like...
I absolutely loathe stop/start and would any day take cylinder deactivation over it if given a choice. My folks have a fully loaded glc300 (15k in options over base) and its a lot nicer to drive than I would have expected, but the stop/start is infuriating. Wish there was a way to permanently...
Agreed, except there was one person who had the recall done after going into limp mode one time, and later on it was discovered that a rocker arm fell off and necessitated an engine replacement.
Havent yet heard of the problem manifesting after completion of the recall/software update. We have...
Change in plans...waiting for rx8 wheels to come back from powder coater, then mounting a set of 235/60/18 continental truecontact tours for year-round use.
Took the fam up to Pinecrest this morning to play in the snow, and the stock Yokos were underwhelming, even in light snow & slush. Was bad...
When my wife saw the wheels, she frowned and asked why they werent darker like the stock 17s...so guess Im going to have them powder coated now before mounting 🤦🏽*♂️
Any pics of rx-8 wheels on a 2nd gen cx5? Just picked up a set (18x8, 50mm offset, 67.1 centerbore) and gonna give them a try with some new 235/60/18 tires to replace the stock touring 17s.
So hard to find a clean 5-spoke wheel these days, and unfortunately my previous Ferrari wheel experiment...
