This is my 2.0 DISI Mazda 5 Sport with 24k miles. Its 2.5 years old. Bought last week as an approved used Mazda. The previous owner had the kick plate and lighting accessories fitted.
Drives really well. I have a few issues though:
Steering wobble at 65-70.
Drivers seat right-bolster...
Did you find your 2012 to be noisy? I have just got my new model 5 (built late 2010) and I find it pretty refined. Quieter than my 2008 Civic. I thought it was only the 2005-2010 5's that were a bit noisy at speed?
5w30 is going to be lower viscosity.
Personally, I would put the same type that's always been in it.
If the engine is of higher mileage and its always had a high a viscosity oil in, and you suddenly drain and switch to a low viscosity, you could be inviting trouble.
It would probably cost me in fuel to get there and back what it is going to take to get the wheels balanced, so I think I will just pay for that locally. If the problem isn't solved by that, then I'm going to contact the dealer again.
I like your suggestion about telling Mazda about the cheap...
Finally got in touch with the dealer. They aren't interested. Basically, they say it's a wheel balance problem, and that's not covered under warranty. I explained that I have literally just bought it, and they just put brand new tyres on it. He said that doesn't matter, and they probably did it...
Called the dealer on their 0844 number. Pressed '1' for the service dept. Static on the line, line goes dead. Tried again, the same. LOL, this doesn't bode well...
Yep, bought it certified pre owned. Has the balance of the new warranty and a 12 month used warranty with road side assist.
I was kind of hoping they would offer to fit different tyres. I doubt they will.
It is disappointing. Drives like a beat up Renault 5 I had when I was 17 on the motorway...
Ok, so I picked it up today. Looks very sweet for an MPV/mini van type thing. Previous owner had some nice extras fitted such as blue led welcome lights and chrome kick plates with an illuminated blue Mazda5 logo in them.
Got 43mpg (36 us mpg) on the trip back home, which is not bad...
Just bought my first Mazda. Pick it up on Thursday.
It looks pretty clean, it's the new shape model with leather, electric doors and iStop. 24k miles.
Anyone any experiences of the direct injection 2.0? Felt fairly similar power wise to my 2008 1.8 Civic. Was impressed with the smoothness of...
I tried finding this info as well, and didn't find much.
It seems some newer Mazdas (2010+) can be configured to enable it (I think it was the 6 and CX-9). No word on the 5. This is sequence of actions using the ignition switch and the locks. If you search the forums you may find it - if you...
Comments about the noise levels of the 2012 Mazda5 vs other cars confuse me...
The measured tests from Insideline seem to contradict what many say about the 5.
These are the results at 70mph cruising speed:
Mazda CX-5: 67.0db
2012 Mazda5: 65.8db
2006 Mazda5: 70.0db
No suprise that the 2012...
I don't think this unit is the one we have in the UK. It is actually a pure TomTom unit - if it is made by Pioneer it isn't the X940BT.
